RDCongo Conflict region is the size of Poland, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Albania, with only 20% of the population density. If one then has to secure such a vast territory against militia that content themselves with some beer, living in the bush, diarrhea, cold (hills of +2 km high), some gold, … quite a challenging task, obviously.
