New KimiNozo anime in the works
Today, 27/8, was Mitsuki Hayase’s birthday. Age-soft held an event to celebrate it. Yes in Japan, even eroge characters get their birthdays celebrated! :3
According to Moon Phase, an announcement for a new Kimi ga Nozomu Eien anime was made during the event.
From Age: New “Kimi ga Nozomu Eien – Haruka’s route” anime confirmed!
This was officially announced during today’s event. Although it had been speculated that the “Ayu Mayu Theatre” anime distributed on the offical site was part of the preparation towards a Muv-Luv anime, it turned out to be another KimiNozo project.
I hate Haruka. I love the ending of the first series. God, why did they have to announce it on Mitsuki’s birthday? :( The irony, it burns…
Still, more Mitsuki and more Akane is good. <3
Apparently from what I have heard (not currently confirmed), the new anime will be an OVA series and it will take place in an alternate timeline where Haruka did not get knocked down by a van. (What the fuck? How is that KimiNozo anymore?)

Stupid waste of resources.
August 28th, 2006 at 12:13 am
You suck.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:08 am
It’s KimiNozo in the way that Girlfriend of Steel is NGE, as were the mangas based on it… aka ‘it’s not, but they’re reusing the characters anyways’.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:08 am
Has to do with that Kimi ga Nozomu Eien special fandisc, in an alternate world where Haruka didn’t get knocked down.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:24 am
Better Haruka’s route than surprise guro anime
August 28th, 2006 at 1:24 am
Oh I’m celebrating Kyou’s birthday in about 2 weeks time.
I’m quite amused at the irony of the situation.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:35 am
If only they would use Akane’s route…
haiz.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:51 am
Screw Haruka; Akane for the win. But I guess the Haruka ending will please all those haters of the series’ original ending.
Isn’t telling us that it’s going to be a “Haruka route” spoiling the ending? One of the main attraction of a harem anime adapted from a eroge/manga is to find out who ends up with the loser male protagonist. What fun is there when you already know how it will turn out?
August 28th, 2006 at 1:57 am
Lim: Shuffle was pretty much set for an Asa ending before we were halfway through, but that didnt’ stop people from watching or enjoying it anyways. It happens.
August 28th, 2006 at 2:29 am
Screw Haruka;
You wish?
I think Akane has more than enough fanfare, and it’s about time older, but superior games (yay Kanon) get more pimpage in light of how recent and crappy games (boo Shuffle) are popular just because they’re shinier and have less dust on top of them.
August 28th, 2006 at 2:35 am
Depends on how you gauge superiority. I had a lot more fun with Shuffle!
Anyway, I’m sure the Key crowd thinks that KimiNozo is a crappy game too.
August 28th, 2006 at 3:01 am
Huh? Without the accident KimiNozo is just random anime that sucks, way to go Age-soft. And I consider it one of best shows ever made, with the accident.
August 28th, 2006 at 3:29 am
Haesslich: I didn’t think so, since it didn’t really become obvious till after Primula’s story. Not to mention that the producers also didn’t blatantly announced that the Asa ending was set in the very first episode or in the title. :p
omo: I wonder, I wonder? ;)
August 28th, 2006 at 3:44 am
Lim: What part of ‘halfway through’ was unclear? Even before the Primula story came to the fore, those KKK-wannabes had given up chasing them because he wasn’t going for the obvious goddess or demon route, by choosing apparently pursuing Asa.
As far as this goes… well, as Anga noted, it was the fact there was an accident, and a serious one, which differentiated KimiNo from its competitors; a life-changing event happened, and wasn’t softened up. Without it, it’s just your typical harem anime, without anything to really differentiate it, since the character development which cased Haruka and Akane such angst wouldn’t have come through without the accident to change everyone’s lives.
August 28th, 2006 at 4:42 am
well maybe she was able to avoid the van…
and then….. hopefully we’ll get a train station accident just like gantz or even a truck
August 28th, 2006 at 4:44 am
lol, bad use of emotes cut off half of the text =(
anyway =p
it’ll be interesting how things will turn out for a harem anime without influences of oyashiro-sama :3
August 28th, 2006 at 5:48 am
Better this than another random harem show, thats for sure. The alternate reality would be interesting since we do get to compare with the original kiminozo and which would highlight exactly how the event changed everything.
August 28th, 2006 at 6:33 am
Without the accident, this will become a Da Capo clone except with more angst, emo and hopefully a School Days-type ending (Takayuki’s apartment is pretty high up if i remember right…)
August 28th, 2006 at 9:10 am
So is the new OVA going to be more of a romantic comedy rather than the torture by gratuitous angst and boneheaded decisions direction the TV series went in? It’ll probably be much more watchable than the TV series, but they were probably better off doing the Muv-Luv adaptation.
August 28th, 2006 at 10:26 am
Haruka (remembering the 1st ero scene in the anime)…
Akane (remembering Akane Maniax’s 3rd ep)…
Mitsuki… mmm… zOmfG
*fap fap fap*
August 28th, 2006 at 1:15 pm
Well, I must admit something…This people at least are giving a chance to revisit this and give an alternate path, like in the game. Imagine if the people of Fate/Stay Night could give an OVA with an alternate path as well….Frankly I would love to see Heavens Feel or UBW path, but of course, thats really hard to do….the only thing that could possibly happen is Ataraxia.
Well, back to the topic, I am expecting this path because in that way, it gives the chance to compare and if you dont like the past ed and path, you can revisit this one, and viceversa. Good strategy to make fans revisit kiminozo who enjoy the game and the anime. Hope some other studios use the same strategy for this type of game to anime translation like FSN…oh well, people can dream….:)
August 28th, 2006 at 5:25 pm
hmm, i was hoping they could release the muv luv alternative anime
August 28th, 2006 at 8:57 pm
I hate Haruka. I love the ending of the first series. God, why did they have to announce it on Mitsuki’s birthday? :( The irony, it burns…
Haha. Such a lot, indeed.
Having an alternative to the original sequence of events in KimiNozu could be a good thing, as already mentioned above by most of the commenters. Have nothing to add to that, except that it could have the choice of becoming a good or a bad end. As was shown in the first series, Haruka’s death, and Mitsuki ending up with Takayuki is already one possibility, and I, for one, would like to see the “What if?” of the series. The alternate path, if you know what I mean…
… I know this is kind of crazy, but maybe the producers were snooping around fanfiction sites when they got the idea. Well, it could be. *shrugs*
What the fuck? How is that KimiNozo anymore? They could call it “KimiNozu Alternative”, as a seperate product identity. See Futakoi and Muv-luv for a comparative example. :P
If only they would use Akane’s route…Given a supportive (strong enough) fanbase, it could be possible you know. Someone must have suggested this plot (Haruka’s alive and well) to the producers of KimiNozu, I think, so that’s why this OVA was conceptualized.
August 28th, 2006 at 9:19 pm
Ronin, it’s based on the fan disc.
Sigh… Mitsuki… ;_;
August 29th, 2006 at 11:17 am
The angst of the Akane ending is not something I would fathom them putting into an anime (those who know ending know what I mean). Obviously we have to know who the path of any alternative series will be, because it CANT be another Mitsuki ending again >P. And the scary nurse-guro ending is just >O.
Im looking forward to the stateside release; in the past I didnt see the purpose of people buying those obnoxious boxsets which only include one DVD, but im gonna be one of those this time around. I hope they include a gashaphon figure or something ^___^
August 29th, 2006 at 2:09 pm
nooo!! Now with this show, it’ll be seeing Mitsuki suffer all over again. Why can’t they make a show where she stays happy for a change. Oh wait there’s no plot there…
August 29th, 2006 at 5:46 pm
Oh. Sorry about that, DarkMirage. My apologies. m(-_-)m
August 29th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
Actually, I’m quite tempted to buy the KimiNozo R1 DVDs too.
But it’s Funimation. So I shall wait and see…
August 29th, 2006 at 10:10 pm
“in the past I didnt see the purpose of people buying those obnoxious boxsets which only include one DVD”
They’re not classified as a boxset to begin with. You’re buying generally either vol. 1 or 2 of series with a collectors box so that you can buy make your own boxset as you collect the series. How is it being obnoxious giving a bonus to the fans who don’t want to wait for the boxset to eventually come out? It’s something the Japanese have been doing for a long time with their releases, and something ADV introduced in the US about four years ago in response to fans.
September 4th, 2006 at 2:04 pm
You already said it, there’s a fandisk about that, why are they going to do the same again?
September 4th, 2006 at 2:26 pm
Well, the TV series is an anime adaptation of the game. The new OVA will be an anime adaptation of the fan disc. Same difference.
January 1st, 2007 at 5:35 pm
Just bought the funi release of KGNE, and yes, I bought the box which will eventually house the set as a boxset. I call it obnoxious cause it costs $10 more than just the disc by itself, and unlike some of ADV’s generous offerings, which include tshirts, mugs, or PVC figures, this one was BARE! Even Hirameki gave art booklets with their Hourglass of Summer game release. It is definitely no bonus IMO. And 90% of what Japan does with their media wouldnt fly here; ie: $32 CDs and $50 DVDs with just two episodes.
March 20th, 2007 at 2:45 am
Man oh man. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly spend more time or money on this series…
March 29th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
Darkmirage, any idea when will this anime be release or aired???? This time i gonna save up my $ n buy this coming series.. I miss the 1st anime, so sad T.T
