Da Capo II anime announced!
According to Moon Phase Zakki, the latest issue of Comptiq has revealed that an anime adaptation of D.C. II is in the works. While being terribly vague (a huge understatement on my part) on the details, it seems to me that a 26-episode series is implied. Or maybe it’s just my imagination.
For the uninitiated, Da Capo II is the sequel to the popular bishoujo game Da Capo. Both the Da Capo and Da Capo Second Season anime series are actually based on the first game, leading to much confusion amongst casual fans and the non-hardcore. This time the main character is Yoshiyuki Sakurai who has not one but two sisters unrelated by blood, Otome Asakura and Yume Asakura, the granddaughters of Nemu (heroine of the first game). Oh right, the story also happens to take place 50 years after the first game. Read my past entry for more details.
As everyone should know by now, my favourite D.C. II girl is Nanaka Shirakawa. So here’s a picture of a pillow cover featuring her!
Haha, good stuff. Still with me? Anyway, on a related note, Kadokawa and CIRCUS are working on a PS2 version of Da Capo II called “Da Capo II Plus Situation” (D.C.II P.S). Oh my god I didn’t see that one coming. At all. New story paths will be added and a Comptiq will be polling its readers to determine who gets to be one of the new heroines. It’s got to be either Akane or Iinchou…
Also I forgot to mention this, but I actually own a PS2 now! So yay for me! I’ll get my PS3 as soon as PS4 is released. :)

Yay. More unrelated incest now!

This news: Made my day. Totally.
Finally, Nanaka’s going to be animated with everyone else~. Hope the original game VAs would reprise their roles.
Question is… what kind of plot would it have..?

Haha . Firstly congratulation for getting a ps2 .
Secondly , Thank you for the information. I’ll ber sure to watch this anime when It is out….keep on for the information!

Awesome news, that makes my day–D.C. II should be an incredible anime series, given the plot from the game. I hope it gets the full two cours treatment.

Doesn’t Suginami somehow still exist… in high school? D:

As much as I would like to be overjoyed with the announcement of a DC II anime, past experience has told me not to get my hopes up too much.
… but if by some miracle, the anime turns out to be decent well then, thank the lord O-Haruhi-sama!

Oh I was wondering when this would be announced and it’d finally here! Hurray!

>> Doesn’t Suginami somehow still exist… in high school? D:
He does, though nobody knows if he’s the same Suginami from 50 years ago (grandson?). He still packs a mean punch as one of the protagonists friends, though. ^_^

actually…i’m not really looking forward for this…since the previous da capo still left me with ugly emotional scars @_@
and of course for the lack of kotori XD *nanaka doesn’t even come close to her in my list :D *
still…i’ll be watching this anime 4 sure when it comes out….though without any expectations :|
oh gawd….how i wish i had asakura otome’s pillow case ^^;

Nanaka and Kotori are like ice-cream and chocolate. They are both good in different ways.

Someone threw the question of the possible scripts for the anime.
As for me, something I hated form D.C. was the 15 filler and fluffy eps b4 the real story. No, I miswrote it. Not that I didn’t liked them, but 15 fluffy eps followed for 11 eps of strong drama and angst are something really weird.
So D.C. II scripters need to fix something: their ability to mix laughs and tears. I sincerely hope this series has 26 eps of pure win.
I’ll watch it nevertheless.

I just felt an overwhelming temptation/urge to go get one of those pillow covers myself.

Akane a heroine on P.S. … then the conversion to P.C. will mean…
my waifu… her virgin days are numbered! >_>;

That’s cool. I figured it was only a matter of time before a Da Capo II anime came out. I guess I should get around to playing the game now.
May 12th, 2007 at 9:12 am
PS2 owns. I have PS2 but I still play PS2 a lot. if you like japanese RPG, try tales of abyss, disgaea 2, suikoden 5 ^^
and I love the pillow case!

I so didn’t see all that coming. Now if only I can get my hands on this month’s Comptiq… I don’t actually even know any of the details, can’t be bothered to look for it and haven’t gotten the new issues of anime/game mags :S

PS: Sarcasm doesn’t travel very well on plain text, does it?
May 18th, 2007 at 1:59 am
Will there be a Kotori’s granddaughter?? :D
May 18th, 2007 at 8:46 am
@SHINING:
Nanaka. ¬¬
May 18th, 2007 at 11:52 am
Mmmm I feel owned now. Well, a Miharu’s granddaughter?
May 18th, 2007 at 1:34 pm
Getting serious, I consider the first series to be good. The second one… well… too many fillers :\ (I like Aishia… a little, she was there for lolicons :P). I hope that this one will be as good as the first.
May 21st, 2007 at 8:47 pm
FUC*ING YES!!
I will be loving every second of Nanaka’s screentime.
Oh, btw: DC2 wallpaper i made is on my website ;p
May 30th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Played the game, I liked the story. It gets kindda sad near the epilouge though, a love that last 50 years, and the curse of immortality.
Poor Sakura. Her event was so touching, and sad.

July 4th, 2007 at 4:39 pm

Hey Darkmirage it seems that the anime is coming out this october. Do you have any idea who will sub it coz I’m really looking forward to watching this after being disappointed by Da Capo SS. I hope this one makes up for DC SS.
October 12th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
