Gundam 00 S2 — Episode 09
Ptolemaios launches itself into space propelled by the power of pure awesomeness and the anti-physics properties of GN particles. With years of experience watching spaceship launches on her belt and an inhuman sense of intuition that can only be wielded by a matured woman, Katie Mannequin immediately manages to match the distinctive trajectory of Ptolemy’s ascend with the scent of Leesa Kujo, her former lesbian lover in college. Sumeragi is busted.
That settles it for the summary. Now let’s talk about something else.
The Psychology of Gundam 00
Okay, that’s a rather presumptuous title. IANAPBIPOOMB, (I am not a psychiatrist, but I play one on my blog) but I would like to spend this short respite away from the magical world of Azeroth to discuss some of the character motivations that exist in Gundam 00.
The Innovators — Physically and mentally superior to humans, their only fatal flaw as a new master race is the lack of reproductive capabilities. This no doubt creates a species-wide inferiority complex hidden beneath an air of superiority. Sort of like a pretty boy version of Hitler. Their ultimate goal is probably to rule over all mankind and fulfil Celestial Being’s supposed goal of eternal peace, but doing so on their own terms and free from the spectre of Aeolia Schenberg, an ordinary human whose apparent prescient wisdom is no doubt a great source annoyance for the Innovators. Also, they probably want to kill everyone who laughed at their names.
Conclusion: A rather twisted variant of the Oedipus complex.
The A-LOLS — Power hungry bureaucratic fat cats mixed with duty-bound brainwashed soldiers of honour. A supposedly elite force whose leaders probably believe they are the only ones capable of maintaining peace and unity on Earth. The organization’s symbol consisting of three phallic arrowheads contradicts the feminine uniforms donned by its members and hints at the underlying paradoxical conundrums that this so-called elite group, one in which a village idiot such as Patrick “Team Rocket” Corlasawar can find employment, is founded on.
Conclusion: Mild schizophrenia.
Celestial Being — A group of young adult males and females trapped on a spaceship at the apex of their sexual maturity. Due to work-related stress and the unconventional circumstances that they find themselves in, they are forced to repress their reproductive instincts. Hilarity ensues. Also, their sole father figure, Aeolia Schenberg, has been a rather disappointing one so far. All in all, their repressed desires materialize in the form of irrational suicidal actions and gender confusion.
Conclusion: Not getting enough.
Wang Liumei — Batshit insane. Probably has something to do with the fact that the only friend she has is her own brother whom she treats like a slave.
Saji Crossroad — Desperate for the touch of another human being. Unfortunately he boarded the wrong ship. Dangerous tendency to whine and emotionally break down. A loose cannon on a military vessel armed to the teeth.
Mr. Bushido — Socially-awkward Gundam otaku weeabo whose love-hate relation with mechanical suits has left him without the essential social faculties to reintegrate into society. He seeks to destroy Gundams to free himself from his inner prison. Attends Comic-Con.
Marie Parfacy — Secretly lusts for an older fatherly figure despite being in a relationship with her childhood sweetheart. This is possibly due to the fact that, considering her current residence, her relationship with Allelujah is likely to be purely platonic in nature and she is not receiving sufficient intercourse to placate the sudden oestrogen imbalance that resulted in her recent growth spurt.
I Don’t Remember His Name — Probably has a wife and two kids he has to feed with the pay cheque he earns from oppressing third world nations. Doesn’t really matter since he dies 5 seconds later.
Arche Gundam — When it was young, it was always picked on by the other Gundams in school for its unconventional appearance because it was extremely obese. It was frequently accused by the playground bullies of being a “regular mobile suit” undeserving of the name Gundam. This prolonged period of physical and mental abuse finally drove it over the edge and it grew up to become a psychopathic serial killer. It also lost a lot of weight over the years as a form of over compensation.
Screencaps
Now back to fishing in Azeroth. I just love to click my mouse. Well, it’s more like I hit level 70 yesterday but since I haven’t bought WotLK, I have nothing else to do except to fish in Orgrimmar as a Night Elf Rogue.
It’s like the bastard child of Mission Impossible and Xtreme Bass Fishing.
P.S. I can’t believe there isn’t a single “Team Rocket is blasting off again” video on YouTube.

Well, for the people that keep track with the gunpla news, we already knew about o-riser since episode 1 or 2. (And there’s more coming)

In 00, it seems that only psychopathic characters can use GN fangs (Ali, Michael, and Alejandro).

Before, I thought Soma will have a cool MS (probably equipped with special funnels or fangs) and be given her time to shine, especially since she can use quantum brain waves and she was not yet able to show much skills in the first season. But now, she’s just a submissive housewife, how sad. Reuniting with Allelujah may be a blessing, but it has a sad consequence.

So that Genesis Portable(TM) managed to veer the Ptolemy off course by astonishing 3 seconds, but otherwise dealt no damage to it whatsoever. And it looked so bad-ass and the BGM was so bad-ass that for a moment I was seriously expecting it to blow away that backward-facing ship to the goddamn Farplane or something…
Liumei would make a fine vocaloid icon, she has captivating looks, voice and who needs anything else…XD
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:04 am
@lilu: We have engines that have an infinite power supply, and you’re worried about a stray message? In any case, it was mentioned that it was sent via MS. So it could have been from the Agessa (or w/e it’s called) or from one of the other suits. She could’ve just bounced off the signal.

Haha. Starlight Breaker. Didn’t you say you hate Nanoha? lol
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:58 am

December 2nd, 2008 at 7:42 am
hahahahaahah thanks for the laughs! I was cracking up!
December 2nd, 2008 at 9:25 am
The innovator has no sense of timing, he could have at least killed off a supporting character.
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:34 am
Just thought of something…Setsuna the main dude even with dual drives and an upgraded Exia in TransAm mode gets pwned to the point where he needs an upgrade module?

Jegan falls to the way of Lieutenant Ming

“Sumeragi was a mistake. This is where his true passion lies”. Lols, do you mean by Billy’s true passion was Mister Bushido? hahas
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Soma/Marie will get to pilot her own module, sort of like 0-raizer, but it’s for Arios.
But she should get her pink Tieren back. GN Tieren sounds nice.
And whats up with all the overloading of so many new suits.

You know what really improves this show, DM? Skipping your blog. These “reviews” are not “funny” or “clever” anymore, hatefilled rants never are. Why do you even bother when you decided before this season even started that it was going to suck no matter what they did?
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:20 pm
The Seravee remind me of The O from Zeta xDDD
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:25 am
@Mira:
thanks
I like what Ali can do.

Guner:
Because it doesn’t suck! It’s funny and entertaining. How dare you insult Gundam 00, my favourite show ever (right after Pokemon)!
Now if I were a real psychiatrist, I might point out that the reason why you over react to my harmless posts is due to your own insecurities over your choice of self amusement (and perhaps obsession).
Maybe you should just enjoy the show like I do. Then again, I am not a psychiatrist so feel free to ignore my advice.

I love watching minor characters get killed after trying to become important. That silly commander in space was left with the biggest task, and after having everything be left up to him, he died within 2 minutes of the start of his task. I loved that part the most. It was almost as entertaining as watching Daryl get pwned by Lockon in the first season. Howard’s death was less rewarding, probably because it was even more foolish than Daryl’s. Minor characters simply can’t go off of impulses and expect to succeed against more major characters. I can’t wait to see how they kill off another Ptolemy crew member. I bet that this time it’ll be Milleia, like Chris in the last one. And I was starting to like her :( Maybe that other researcher lady who seems to be her mother will die…I dunno. A simple resupply operation on a mysterious rock sounds like the perfect time for another minor to die.

If you look at the Gadessa carefully, you find…
The “Starlight Breaker” GN hyper mega particle accelerator:
The design is of a multi-purpose weapon. The ranged weapon has a GN Accelerator, which means the GN Drive Tau could not produce GN particles as fast as the original 5 GN Drives. The accelerator also meant that the design was like the Seravee’s (firepower)^n*0.78. The melee portion may be not that melee (only anti-beam coating or E-carbon)
The mobile suit: Look carefully at the design of armour. Spiky design. (A-LOLS may well had used the awfully damaged GN-003 Kyrios to be reverse engineered and designed into the Gadessa). Clue: the limbs ailerons.
Conclusion: May well end up like Heine’s (not the condiment-maker, but minor character in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny) ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited fresh-from-the-crackpot-factory-prototype and having the pilot disemboweled.
P.S. I know my post si beh long (very/extremely long) and that you can tahan (stand it) here, but this is the in-depth of the Gadessa…That’s about it. Gum Sia Ar! (Thank you!)

You are wrong DM! The Innovators have reproductive capabilities, that is, asexual reproduction. They have the ability to divide into two. :))

As usual, very funny. I think you should review Negima, it’s such a ridiculously silly show. It’s like a perverted rodent!
