The delivery of the elf, in my son’s 4-year-old mind, would recuse Santa of any future visits since, of course, the elf can make any toy imaginable.

He says it’s just simpler this way — now he doesn’t have to worry about that pesky Christmas list each year. Of course, there’s the whole indentured servitude angle, but hey, nothing’s perfect, right?
