The original DOCTYPE was <code>!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional\/\/EN\"<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>People were speculating that Funimation was the one who licensed Haruhi because the DOCTYPE matches the one used on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.funimation.com\/\">their website<\/a>. It seems that whoever licensed Haruhi wanted to kill this rumour, since it&#8217;s kind of weird for someone to remove a working DOCTYPE for no reason (the site is valid HTML 4.01 according to <a href=\"http:\/\/validator.w3.org\/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fasosbrigade.com%2F&#038;charset=%28detect+automatically%29&#038;doctype=HTML+4.01+Transitional\">W3C<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>The hidden text in the source code has also been changed to \u00e3\u20ac\u0152\u00e5\u0152\u2014\u00e7\u00b1\u00b3\u00e8\u00a8\u02c6\u00e7\u201d\u00bb\u00e3\u0081\u0152\u00e7\u2122\u00ba\u00e5\u0160\u00b9\u00e3\u0081\u2014\u00e3\u0081\u0178\u00e3\u20ac\u201a\u00e3\u20ac\u008d, or &#8220;the North American project has been launched.&#8221; I think this pretty much confirms it 100% that Haruhi is licensed.<\/p>\n<p>If the DOCTYPE was really removed because of the rumours, then this pretty much rules out Funimation as the mysterious company. Plus the fact that all the &#8220;in-jokes&#8221; are being done in Japanese, it leads me to believe that the licensing company has to be Kadokawa Pictures USA (which currently only has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsnetwork.com\/encyclopedia\/anime.php?id=4449\"><strong>FMP! TSR<\/strong><\/a> under its belt).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.haruhi.tv\/\">Haruhi.tv<\/a> has also been updated with an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haruhi.tv\/escapeprogram.html\">escape program<\/a> from YUKI.N.
