I loved Kagoshima too. I visited last month (inspired, in part, by your adventures in Kyushu DM) and agree that while there’s nothing ‘must see’, it’s a really pleasant place to spend time. We were on our way to Kirishima and Yakushima, so Kagoshima was a great place to stop by for a few days in between.

It’s just a set of tennis courts without the nets up and with cracks with weeds poking out right? The courts look a bit wet too. Am I right or should I rid myself of this sense of smugness.

What IS that picture showing…at first glance it reminded me of a tennis court with rice paddy fields superimposed over it…

And this post was mostly a history lesson :P
