As per usual, a small press conference was held this morning to announce some of the details. Here&#8217;s the quick low down on the most important bits that I sat through two hours for:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Confirmed guests<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/exclusive_bushiroad.html\">Milky Holmes<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/voices_kanahanazawa.html\">Kana Hanazawa<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/cosplayer_kaname.html\">Kaname<\/a> (cosplay competition judge)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/dannychoo.html\">Danny Choo<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsnetwork.com\/encyclopedia\/people.php?id=6710\">Gou Nakanishi<\/a> (attending the industry event)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New programmes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Screening of <a href=\"http:\/\/gundam.wikia.com\/wiki\/Mobile_Suit_Gundam_00_The_Movie:_A_wakening_of_the_Trailblazer\">Gundam 00 movie<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsnetwork.com\/encyclopedia\/anime.php?id=11120\">Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/atelier_royale.html\">Butler Cafe<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Confirmed performances<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/i_love_mayn.html\">May&#8217;n<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/i_love_mizuki.html\">Ichirou Mizuki<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/i_love_angela.html\">angela<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/i_love_JAMProject.html\">JAM Project<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/i_love_Scandal.html\">Scandal<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s also some unannounced exclusive COSPA merchandises, but the rest of the line-up appears to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darkmirage.com\/2009\/09\/01\/anime-festival-asia-09-press-conference\/\">SOP<\/a> (standard operating procedure, not Sons of Patriot) &mdash; maid cafe (though it&#8217;s now a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/mmk_schooldays.html\">school uniform cafe<\/a>), merchandise showcases, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/competition.html\">cosplay competition<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n<p>I have to say that the biggest coup this year is probably either <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vGx2mJO3ako\">SCANDAL<\/a><\/strong> (the next <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gRCRlE-96I8\">ZONE<\/a>?) or <strong>JAM Project<\/strong>. Personally, I absolutely adore <strong>angela<\/strong> ever since <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rK7cN-Nn8uM\">Uchuu no Stellvia<\/a>. I had a hunch that they were one of the guests when Gou Nakanishi (producer of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsnetwork.com\/encyclopedia\/anime.php?id=3870\">Soukyuu no Fafner<\/a> and producer for angela) was listed as one of the speakers for an industry networking event that takes place one day before AFA proper.<\/p>\n<p>The concert itself is split into two days as per last year, with JAM Project and Ichirou Mizuki on day 1 and the SCANDAL, angela, May&#8217;n on day 2. I suspect the two movie screenings will also be similarly divided, with Gundam 00 on the first day (to fit in with the whole manly robot theme), but that&#8217;s just my speculation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.animefestival.asia\/ticketing.html\">Ticketing information<\/a> is all up on the official site. It seems that this year the organizer is breaking the tickets down into even more tiers.
