Rei's Child Two

"How is this possible?" asks one of the techs in the Eva cage control room at NERV-02.

"Technically, it shouldn’t be. Kei doesn’t have the needed training to synchronize with an Eva…" replies Makoto as he looks at the data being displayed on one of the terminals.

Shinji doesn’t say anything as he looks at his daughter on the screen. After a minute he remembers that Rei was watching over Kei and turns to look out the windows. When he spots her he notices she is not moving. He walks towards the doors leading into the cage and passes through them while the technicians try to make some sense of the situation. Once Shinji has come within a few meters of his wife he starts to feel very dizzy as his mind is assaulted by some kind of energy field. The feeling only lasts for a minute and when it has passed it takes a few moments for him to get his bearings again. When he looks up he sees that Rei is starting to sway a bit where she is standing before she falls over all together and bangs her head on the metal railing lining the walkway. She manages to fall off the edge after landing in a critical way and lands seven meters below on the next walkway.

"REI!!!" yells Shinji as he hears footsteps behind him approaching.

An hour later, Shinji awaits news on both Rei's and Kei's conditions in the lobby of the Medical Ward of NERV-02. He was there when they pulled Kei out of the Entry Plug unconscious; the doctors think it was due to the stress her mind endured from the Eva itself. Rei wasn't in very good condition either when they got to her on the walkway she landed on, Shinji knew that she would be in worse condition, but isn't sure how bad yet. After a long wait he hears the door open nearby as a doctor enters, "Ikari, Shinji?" they ask.

"I am. What can you tell me?"

"Well…your daughter is okay, she is still asleep from the ordeal but it doesn't look like she endured any damage to her mind. As for your wife, her condition is much worse. She has a moderate concussion on her forehead from the railing and has some broken bones from her second fall. Unfortunately her mind seems to have been affected as well, possibly the reason why she fell. At the moment we have done all we can for her, but she is in the Intensive Care Unit."

"Can…can I see her?"

"For a few minutes, yes."

A short while later, Shinji has managed to find Rei's room and is about to see how bad the situation really is. As he walks in he notices the sound of machinery running in the room. When he reaches the curtain providing privacy to the patient he pulls it back and gets a good look at his wife's appearance before breaking down at the foot of the bed, "NO!! Please no! Rei, wake up, WAKE UP!!!"

The blue-haired girl doesn't respond to the boy's cries as Shinji slowly starts to break down at the foot of the bed crying. Knowing that her current condition is not a good sign.

It only takes a few seconds for some of the staff to respond to the boy's calls. When they see him trying to free Rei from the tubes embedded into her at the moment they quickly try to pull him away without much success after he manages to grab to edge of the bed near the floor.

"LET ME GO, I WANT TO GET HER OUT OF HERE!!!"

A minute later NERV-02 security arrives in the room and injects a tranquilizer into Shinji, knocking him out after a few moments.

Several hours later, the main players have arrived back at NERV. Misato has been updated on the recent events following the Eva activation and has called a quick meeting.

"Makoto, tell me what you know about the activation data?" asks Misato from the head of the table.

"The data that MAGI-02 gathered was incomplete since we were not expecting any of this to happen. From what I was able to gather though, Kei has the ability to adjust herself to synchronize with an Eva, the only thing is she isn't able to pilot just any Eva. It looks like she can only pilot certain units. In other words she won't be able to pilot Unit-04 on her own like the images we saw may have indicated." replies Makoto after gathering a few notes he prepared for the meeting.

"Any information on the newest Eva?"

"It was never completely finished. The designations were never entered into MAGI-02. Something else we have discovered is it is supposed to be piloted by two pilots at the same time. Similar to the tandem Entry Plug designed by Doctor Akagi years ago. It is possible that Kei will be able to pilot with another in that Eva."

"Interesting, is there a way you can find out before we try it?"

"That is a bit more in my field if I remember correctly." replies a voice from the doorway.

Everyone turns to see that Shigeru has finally arrived at T3U, aka NERV.

"What took you so long?" demands Misato.

"I apologize for my lateness. I was delayed due to the New Chicago Airport getting flooded when the river overflowed. It took several hours for the Air Travel Authority to clear me for takeoff."

"Well, welcome back to NERV, Aoba Shigeru. Please have a seat."

The longhaired man finds an empty spot and takes a seat at the table.

"Okay, you said that compatibility is your department?"

"Yes. I was one of the techs that originally determined the probabilities for who would be able to pilot any of the Evas."

"Good, then I want you and Hikari to see who would be able to pilot Eva-04 and who would be able to pilot the newest Eva."

"Understood, I can see if the old records are available in the MAGI still."

"Next subject, the MAGI.

"The MAGI is at the optimal level now. We are currently finishing up the links for Central Control like it originally was connected to. Toji and Kensuke are close to finishing that up right now. Maya and I are also doing our best to fully link MAGI's 01 and 02." reports Asuka.

"How long do you think it will take before everything will be ready?"

"Another two hours for the control links, and the MAGI links are near complete."

"Keep me informed, Asuka. What is the status of Kaworu Jr.?"

Hikari opens a folder in front of her and replies, "He seems to have the same characteristics that Kei possesses only his are natural. If I am right he may be able to pilot an Eva if needed."

"How about Kei's condition?"

"She is awake again and is staying with Mari at the moment, I sent Osamu there as well until Shinji has awakened."

"Any indication on that?"

"Can't say, he wakes up when he wakes up."

"Now onto the last subject…" says Misato she dreads the news she knows she will hear, "…Rei's condition?"

Hikari closes the first folder and pulls a second one out from under it, then calls up some information on the main screen in the room, "Rei has suffered some major injuries. She has some broken ribs, dislocated shoulder, moderate concussion…in short she is in bad shape physically from the fall. In addition to that, her mind has been affected by whatever happened with Kei in the Eva. When Shinji was asked to tell what happened he said he felt a wave of dizziness before Rei fell. She has been isolated from the main part of the hospital for security reasons and is undergoing intensive care. Her life is on the line right now."

Misato closes her eyes and slowly nods, showing she understands, "I will be the one to deliver that news to Shinji. This meeting is over, thank you everyone…" she finished as she starts to think of the best way to deliver the bad news.

Around the same time in Tokyo-02, Fuyutsuki is attending a meeting with the heads of the UN Council.

"Professor, NERV is once again needed. But before we grant full immunity we want to be sure that the events of the past won't happen again." states one of the members.

"I assure you that chances of that happening are not likely this time. Gendo Ikari is deceased and the new Commander has first hand knowledge of what the Evas are capable of. She has no intention of using them for any other purpose except to stop the current Angel threat." he replies.

"What about you, Professor?"

"I have no intention of continuing the work of the past."

"Then NERV is officially reinstated. It will have full immunity from the current regulations in place for military powers under the UN's control. The worlds' fate is in your hands now, don't fail us!"

About an hour later, after being sedated hours earlier near Rei's hospital bed at NERV-02, Shinji begins to stir in his bed as the drugs begin to wear off. "Nnnnnn..." he moans as his eyes open. Within a few moments a nurse walks into the room and sees his conscious state, "You are awake finally. I will let the Commander know." the nurse says while turning to exit the room, "Where am I?" "You are in Room 203 at T3U Hospital at the moment." Shinji moans louder this time as he realizes a not too pleasing fact, but remembers Rei a moment later, "Where is my wife?" "I cannot tell you that, you will have to ask the Commander when she gets here." finishes the nurse as she exits the room.

About five minutes later Shinji is greeted to Misato's presence as she pulls up a chair, "Welcome back." she says, "Where is Rei?" asks Shinji. Misato hesitates before giving her final answer, "I can't tell you right now for your and her safety. But I can tell you how bad her situation is." Shinji reluctantly nods as she continues, "Shinji, she has some broken bones, a few bad bumps on her head, and...possibly some brain damage. Hikari has been designated as her primary doctor until her condition improves...if it improves." "What are you saying?" "She is hanging on by a thread at the moment. I am doing everything I can to help the situation but I am told that all we can do for now is wait this out..." Shinji looks up at the ceiling as the reality of what has happened sinks in for him. Ever since he met Rei about six years ago he knew she was different. Misato takes his silence as meaning he wants to be alone and stands up to leave the room. "Misato, one more thing?" "Yes?.." "Why was I put in this room?" It takes about a minute to figure out what he is talking about when she realizes where they are, "I'm sorry, I didn't know they put you in 'this' room."

'This' room being the one he first woke up in after the first battle in Unit-01.

After being cleared from room 203, Misato has called a new meeting that would include Shinji.

"Okay, first off I just want extend my sympathies to Shinji for Rei's current condition and say we are all hoping that she gets better." states Misato.

"Thank you, Misato." he replies.

She nods and continues, "I hear that Aoba and Hikari have some news for us?"

Shigeru nods and uses a small keypad to display some information on the large screen in Central Control, "As you can see, there are three names listed at the moment on the screen and two Evas. The undesignated Eva is a tandem unit. The results I have here are preliminary ONLY." He starts rummaging through a folder in front of him until he finds the notes for the first subject involved, "Mari Suzahara would easily be able to pilot Eva Unit-04..."

"FORGET IT!!!" yells Toji.

"Toji, we may not have a choice here, and, unlike your piloting experience, Unit-04 has better safeguards implemented in the case that something enters the system..."

"Piloting an Eva is too dangerous!!"

"I will say this again in case it was missed before! These are PRELIMINARY results, I am not even sure if she really could pilot in real life."

"My sister doesn't need to suffer the same way I did when I was attacked by the Angel! Shinji doesn't need to bear witness to another friend being killed either!"

"We don't have a choice here!"

"Have you tested former pilots yet?"

"Yes, even Kensuke and Hikari were tested. The problem right now with most of us is our minds are out of sync with the Evas."

"I still refuse to let her into ANY ENTRY PLUGS!"

Before the argument can continue between Aoba and Toji, Misato raises her hand up, "Toji, you know that our job is to stop the Angels. I am not exactly in favor of Mari piloting either...but...please hear him out on this, NERV-02 had done some better work on the safety systems for the Evas from what I have read."

Shigeru nods and continues when Toji stays silent, "As I have said, Eva Unit-04 has a better safety system installed in the case something were to get into the system that might affect the pilot in some way other than wanted. Mari is testing as the only available pilot for that Eva right now."

"I am her brother! I don't want my only sister to end up being crushed or trapped in that tomb!"

"TOJI!!!" yells Hikari before calming down, "Please, listen to reason..."

"Toji, I told you that I am not in favor of this idea either, so I am going to put it in the simplest way right now. This will be Mari's choice, if she says yes, then she will be tested. If she would rather not do it, then I won't force her. Is this okay?" adds Misato.

Toji sits silently for several seconds as he thinks about this before he gives his approval, "Fine, but I want her to know the dangers before she is allowed to make the choice."

Misato nods, "Okay, on to the next subject?"

"The new Eva can hold two people as I have stated before, and the two that came up as compatible are Kei Ikari and Kaworu Nabiki. My idea is to have them tested at the same time in the Eva to see if they can do it together, if at all."

"Granted. As soon as we get an answer from Mari we will continue that subject. The next item on the list is MAGI?" states Misato.

Asuka nods and stands after calling up a new display on the screen, "Central Control is ready for Maya, Hyuuga, and Aoba again to control the MAGI from. The other room has been kept intact as well for Kensuke and I to use if needed. Kensuke and Maya are finishing up on the link protocols concerning MAGI-02 and have estimated that they will be online in three hours."

"Very nice. What about T3U and the surface?"

Toji is the one to address this subject, so he pulls out a few sheets of paper from a folder and begins, "The surface is a total loss. For now the residents have been moved below until a more permanent solution can be found. The University is basically complete in main repairs and the bits that remain are being done when possible."

"Good, I want Toji and Shigeru to talk to Mari tonight and tell me what she has decided tomorrow when I call a new meeting. Dismissed."

A few hours later, the current mother of little Kaworu has awoken in her hospital bed after a long nap lasting a few days. She looks up at the ceiling as she gets her bearings on her location. When she finally realizes where she is she starts searching for a way to page anyone in the hall until she sees a figure wearing a mostly red jacket enter the room, "I see you are awake. I am Commander Misato Katsuragi of NERV and the head of security for the University. Is your name Kallijo Nabiki?" she asks.

"Yes, it is. Can I help you?"

"I hope so, I have come to ask about Kaworu Nabiki, he looks similar to..."

"He is his son..."

"So the mother did have contact with the Seventeenth Angel?"

"They were together for one night as I understand it, she was suicidal at that point after being mugged. I don't know the whole story...but I do know that..."

"About the child..."

The woman in the bed instantly stiffens up as she realizes where this is going, "Commander, please take care of him. He is a special child!" After a few moments of silence she starts to shake in the bed before she relaxes again, gaining a dreamy face.

Misato quickly notices what is happening and pages a doctor.

"...Please...don't worry about me...just take care of...Kaworu...for me..."

"We can..."

"NO! I know I won't live much longer...please...just take care...of him..."

About a half-hour later, the doctors turn off the machines in the room after attempting to stabilize the patient without success.

"Don't worry...I will do everything I can for him." whispers Misato.

The next day, after Mari has been informed of her position, and agreed to being tested by NERV, Misato has called a meeting to discuss the next step.

"Okay, first off, I want to inform everyone that from what I heard about last night, Mari has agreed to the test. Shigeru, Toji, and Mari are to head out first thing tomorrow morning for Nevada. That evening, Shinji, Makoto, and Kei will leave on the second flight. Asuka, I want you to take care of Osamu for Shinji. The next day, Hikari, Kaworu and I will be on our way for the test that will take place the next morning. Fuyutsuki will be heading the NERV situations while I am away."

Two days later the sun is about to rise over what is left of the surface of Tokyo-3. Three people have just boarded a VTOL transport ready to lift off into the sky on a journey to Nevada for some tests.

Misato looks off to her side where Hikari currently sits gripping the seat as if in fear, "Afraid of flying?" she asks.

"Sorta..."

Misato grins and reaches for a button to block out the outside view, "Any better?"

"A...a little..."

"Is something wrong?"

"I am wondering if we are making a mistake...in using the Evas again..."

"You think we may be making a mistake?"

"Well, I remember the reports I read..."

"I am not sure either. Personally I agree with Toji...the Evas have only caused pain."

"So you are having second thoughts?"

"...Maybe. Hikari, I remember how Shinji used to react to piloting every time in Unit-01. When Haldiel used Unit-03 to attack and Gendo Ikari first used the Dummy Plug to fight back. I remember Shinji's face when he saw it was Toji in the Eva. I also remember when Rei sacrificed her Eva, when Asuka got raped...All I have seen come from Eva in Shinji's case is pain. Now here we are...his wife close to death, daughter about to pilot an Eva as well as his best friend's sister. A new Angel has appeared and managed to kill more people. A boy that is the son of Tabris has been dropped off on our doorstep and is going to be a pilot as well. Tell me Hikari, are we doing the right thing? Do we have the right to do this? The truth is I don't know what to really do except use people to fight for our survival..."

"Misato...I don't know either..." Hikari pauses as she tries to think of the right words to use, "What I do know is we, humanity, are doing what we can to survive...I don't know why, but we are who we are...and that is a race willing to survive..."

Misato smiles at the girl just as they feel the craft begin to ascend into the sky.

"I hate these things..." quietly comments Hikari as she tightens her grip on her seat.

The next day, after being instructed on what to do, Mari, Kaworu, and Kei have been brought to a temporary changing room to prepare for the test. The previous night had been a night of planning for the newest piloting recruits, and as was expected, Toji voiced his concern many times before everything was agreed on to an extent. There was one topic that wasn't brought up that he would definitely not have agreed on. As a matter of fact he is now discussing this 'situation' in a different room right now.

"Piloting an Eva...I hope I don't end up the same way my brother did when he first piloted..." sighs Mari as she finishes preparing for the test.

"I am sure you would be fine. We were all assured that this time would be safer than before since we are using a different computer system." assures Kei as she neatly folds up her clothes.

"Kei, has your mother or father told you about the last time they had to do a test in this way?"

"I remember it from my mothers thoughts. It was not something my father favored if I remember right...and Auntie Asuka never gave up on voicing her protests quite loudly..."

Kaworu, who had been half listening to the two girl's conversation, finally speaks up, "What are you talking about?"

"Kaworu...this test method is one that was not favored the first time it was done. Nor is it favored now!" replies Mari.

"They said the cameras would be turned off." adds Kei, as if those words would make the situation better.

"I remember talking to Asuka about this before, they never keep their word!" says Mari as they hear the announcement for them to head to their Evas.

"As I explained before, Toji, we do not have Plugsuits for this test and because of the possibility of contaminating the LCL with junk from the clothing we have to do a 'Buff test' in this case." explains Misato for the fifth time this morning to Toji.

"Are you absolutely SURE that we are the only ones that can visually see them?!"

"Yes...I had Makoto disable the visual systems from the mainstream security system so only a hard connection to the sub-system can be used to visually see anything. Everyone else in this room can only see thermal images..." she explains as she tiredly gestures around the cage control room they are in, "And no one is in the halls or cage at the moment so the Pilots can walk to their designated positions without conflict..."

Toji finally lets up from his assurances after he is satisfied that everything has been taken care of as far as the three naked pilots are concerned. Since he had finally agreed back in Japan to the test he searches for a chair to sit in while he watches.

"Misato, how long will this test take?" asks Shinji once the first conversation comes to a close.

"I am hoping not long, all that will be done today is a simple startup test. You remember how boring those were, right?"

Shinji nods slowly as he thinks back to all the times he had to just sit in his Eva and do nothing while listening to Ritsuko Akagi bark off orders.

<Pilots have entered Evas. Awaiting orders.> comes an announcement over the intercom system.

"Here we go. Shigeru, start the test with Eva-04 and Mari Suzahara."

The sound of many commands being performed rings out in the large room as Shigeru does as ordered. Soon the progress reports are announced as the test reaches the first point.

"So far so good...no problems detected." reports Misato to the three people behind her at the moment, "Hikari, monitor her respiratory responses for the time being in case she..." Misato is cut off as a beeping noise sounds from the computer.

"What is happening?!" demands Toji when he suspects a big problem.

"Her adrenals have risen slightly for..." starts Hikari before she figures out what is going on and reaches for the Plug intercom switch, "Mari, is everything okay?" she asks.

Misato begins to laugh when she hears there isn't really anything wrong, "Mari, you can throw up in the fluid if you want. It won't affect the test results any." she comments to the girl.

Misato is given a strange look over the intercom system as Mari tries to figure out what the Commander is saying.

"LCL, the stuff you are breathing, breaks down body fluids into the basics. If you have to pee or throw up then the liquid will dissolve your body fluids." the Commander adds, still laughing a bit.

Hikari goes back to what she was doing as Misato gets back to what she was saying, "Monitor the respiratory responses in case Mari starts to panic. Toji, do not worry, Makoto and Shigeru will abort the test if anything major happens that would affect either the test or your sister, there is no reason to panic otherwise."

"Misato, what about Kei and Kaworu Jr.?" asks Shinji as he remembers the first time a tandem plug was used.

"Well...I have been informed that everything is ready for the test, but the results are still unknown since this is a tandem..."

"Mari is even better than you, Toji. Her synch rate is around Shinji's first time startup level. You should be happy about that."

Toji only grumbles a few incoherent words as he remembers how much against his sister becoming a pilot he was.

"Mari's ratio is at 59%." reports Hikari as she notices the results in the top corner of her screen.

"Startup test successful, power down and have the Pilot stand by for now in the Eva until the second test is finished." orders Misato when she is satisfied with the outcome of the first test.

"Commander, the newest Eva is mostly ready for test. Awaiting designation." reports Shigeru from the main banks of terminals in the room.

"Understood. Designate this Eva as Evangelion Unit-05 and begin the startup phase." she orders once she is certain she is ready for the second test and glancing back at Shinji to see if he had any second thoughts on the matter.

In the Entry Plug of the newly designated Unit-05, two figures sit and wait for the test to begin.

"Ready?" asks Kei to Kaworu.

The boy doesn't respond as the control room prepares for the initial startup point.

"Are you scared?" she asks, but she receives no response as the point draws closer.

<Ready for startup process. Initiating power supply now.> reports one of the techs from the control room.

Soon, Kei begins to feel a slight tingling feeling as the energy starts to flow through the Plug she is in. After about ten seconds pass the walls change to red as a large problem is detected.

Everyone in the cage control room starts to scramble as several alarms start sounding around them.

"SUBJECT TWO IS CRASHING!!!" yells Makoto

Misato looks at the visual monitors of the interior and sees the boy violently thrashing around inside, "What is going on?!" she yells.

"Unsure, voltage is holding at 15%. Subject One is exhibiting no signs of trouble!" reports Shigeru as he tries his best to make sense of everything. It isn't long before the boy stops moving.

"GET THAT BOY IN A BED NOW!!!" instantly orders Misato.

=Two figures remain standing near a white figure in Terminal Dogma. A fierce battle had taken place here between a possessed Unit-02 and Unit-01 that resulted in one of them falling. Now an Angel's life hangs in the balance as the Pilot of Unit-01 prepares to do what he has been told he must.=

="Shinji, thank you for your friendship during my time here at NERV. My final days have been joyous because of you." says Kaworu as the time draws near for his death by a crushing force.=

=Unit-01 stares downward as its Pilot hesitates on the final move. Several seconds go by as the Pilot battles with himself on what to do, "I cannot do it, Kaworu...I just can't do it..."=

="Shinji, you deserve to live on. Humanity has so much to offer the world still. Please kill me so you may live on."=

="I just can't! I can't kill someone who has said they love me!"=

=Several moments of silence pass as they end of humanity lingers between the two figures before Kaworu adds some helpful insight.=

="You must kill me in order to live. Humanity deserves life more than I do. Please, end my life." After more moments of indecisiveness, he adds more, "Shinji, I will love you no matter what happens, please make the right choice for both of us. I am glad I was able to spend time with you and I would never ask for those moments back no matter what. I wish for you to live because of it. Please, kill me."=

=Having reached the point of insanity, Shinji finally makes his choice and crushes Kaworu in one swift move. Blood soon covers the hand of Unit-01 as a round object pops into the air before coming down and splashing into the pool of LCL below.=

A figure lying in a hospital bed quickly sits up as it awakens from a dream. It doesn't take long to get bearings as the figure relaxes and lies back again. Kaworu Jr. thinks back to what he has just seen and begins to piece past dreams similar to this one together. Soon he realizes what it means just as someone enters the room.

"You are awake, that is a good thing. My name is Hikari Horaki, your doctor. We briefly met on the way here but you were sleeping for most of the trip. How are you feeling?" she asks the boy once she is sure she has his attention.

Kaworu briefly smiles before replying, "A little tired..."

"Well you are free to continue sleeping for a little while longer if you wish, the test has been postponed for a short while so you can recover. Once you are released from here you will be staying with Commander Katsuragi. Just let me know if you need anything?"

"Can I speak with Kei Ikari?" the boy nervously asks.

"I will let her know you wish to see her."

The boy slightly nods as Hikari turns to leave the room.

A few minutes later, Hikari arrives in the temporary office of the Commander to deliver a bit of news.

"Misato, Kaworu has awoken and appears to be doing fine from what I saw. No damage appears to have been done to his mind during the startup test."

"Did you tell him he will be staying with me once he is let out of here?"

"I did. One other thing, he has asked to see Kei, I told him it was okay."

"I have no problem with that. Have you had time to look over Mari's test results?"

"She did very well in the Eva. The LCL has not affected her in any negative way that I can see. It looks like she will be an excellent pilot."

"Thank you, Hikari. I am sure this will make Toji happier..."

"He cares about his sister. Because of the attack years ago that ended up killing the last of his family he is now in a sense her father and her only true family, all I can be for her is a sister rather than a mother."

"I know, Hikari. I will let Kei know that Kaworu wants to talk to her."

About two hours later, Kei has arrived at Kaworu's room and entered to see he has been waiting for her.

"So you have finally come."

"I hear you wanted to speak with me about something?"

"Do you remember what you asked me days ago?" says Kaworu, not even bothering to look at Kei.

Kei is confused as she tries to remember what it was until Kaworu tells her.

"You asked me if my father was an Angel. I think he was..."

"Why are you bringing this up now?"

"What is an Angel?"

"It is something we may have to fight soon..."

"Kei, time to head home." interrupts Shinji as he nears the room. When he enters he notices the same boy that has the looks of his best friend that saved Rei's life years ago.

"Yes, father..."

"YOU!!!" yells Kaworu Nabiki when he sees Kei's father.

Kei begins to sense some kind of field as Kaworu's facial expression becomes very hard, "NO!!!" she yells.

A bright flash of light illuminates the screen before the picture goes snowy as three people watch a video of the most recent incident to occur.

"They both have fully developed AT-Fields..." says Misato after watching the replay for the fifth time.

"It appears so. The fields clashed in the room and managed to cause major damage to it. The shockwave was also strong enough to blast Shinji hard into the hallway wall behind him. I have had Kei and Kaworu put into separate Entry Plugs for the time being until we can figure out what to do with them." reports Makoto.

"Shinji will be okay soon. He managed to suffer minor injuries to his body. The worst was bruised bones on his right arm. He is currently sleeping in a recovery room meant for post-operation patients." adds Hikari.

Misato closes her eyes as the situation she is facing increases her headache, "Since Mari has tested okay, she and Toji are clear to head back to NERV. Makoto, notify Fuyutsuki that two Evas will be sent back soon so two cages will need to be cleared out for them. Hikari, do me a favor and do an exam on those two current problematic children to see if they have suffered any affects from the use of an ATF in this manner, and can you please bring me something for this headache? Makoto, one more thing, have Shigeru do a scan of that hospital room."

Both Hikari and Makoto nod as they leave the room.

Minutes later, the youths in deep trouble start communicating with each other since they have nothing better to do.

'Kei, I am sorry I tried to kill your father...' communicates Kaworu towards Kei.

<Kaworu, why did you do it?>

'Because...he was the one that killed my father...'

No response comes for a few moments as he senses Kei thinking about this.

'But I saw it happen in several dreams!'

'Yes...but he was also my father who I never got to meet...'

Even though she was not in the same space as Kaworu, Kei did her best to put a hand on the boy's shoulder with her mind. <I will do what I can to find the truth about what happened. Can you please do something for me though?>

The boy is thrown on this comment as he answers, 'What could I possibly do for you?'

Many, many miles away from both Nevada and Japan, a figure moves as it prepares for the next attack from afar upon the only threat that stands in its way at the moment from wiping out humanity. Its mass begins to build upon itself as what appears to be a copy of itself takes form more and more with each passing moment. It isn't long before the process is finished and the new mass separates away from the main body. Once totally isolated the new mass moves around on its own as it reforms itself to fit the current environments it will be encountering on its journey to defeat the threat.

In the recently redesigned Central Control Room of NERV, Maya Ibuki has finished a new scan of the South Pole region and discovered some new information concerning the newest threat to visit the world.

"Sir, the Angel has split in two." reports Maya over the phone to Professor Fuyutsuki.

"The MAGI confirms it, the newest part is smaller than the first but appears to still be in the development stage."

Maya hangs up the phone as the last of the scans finish and are displayed at her terminal, "Oh my god..."

"This is Katsuragi, what is it?"

About an hour after Maya discovered some new information and then some, a priority call has been placed to Misato concerning a possible threat to NERV-02.

<Ibuki discovered the initial signs of a pending attack sixty minutes ago and both Aida and the MAGI have confirmed it. The Angel has cloned itself. That isn't all, the smaller clone has evolved to handle underwater environments and warm temperatures similar to those found in desert regions. Also, we lost communications with RAD-34 ten minutes ago after the original Angel spotted it. Soryu had done all she could to reestablish communications but suspects the satellite has been destroyed.> reports Fuyutsuki.

"Have you been contacted about the Eva cages?"

"Thanks for the information. I will be keeping Toji and Mari here for a bit longer. I will contact you in a few hours with new information."

<Understood.>

The Commander ends the call before placing a new call to the Central Control area for NERV-02, "Makoto, get Kei and Kaworu out of those plugs and ready for a new test. Also, inform Toji and Mari that their leave has been cancelled, as a matter of fact I want you to start teaching Mari how to operate Unit-04 ASAP."

<Understood, Misato. But may I ask why the change in plans?>

"We may have an Angel headed this way soon. One other thing, I want Plugsuits made right away for the pilots."

<Understood.>

Within ten minutes of the change in orders, Makoto has had Kei and Kaworu prepped and inserted into Eva-05.

Kei and Kaworu once again await the power to be applied to the Eva as they sit in their designated spots naked.

"Kaworu, please promise me you won't pass out again like you did before?" asks Kei.

"I will try not to..."

Just like before, Kei feels a slight tingle as the voltage starts to rise. Unlike the last time the walls stay the normal color.

"Kei, I am sorry for getting us both into trouble." says Kaworu, confirming that he is still awake.

"Don't worry about it."

"How were you able to gain your abilities?" asks Kei.

"My...abilities?"

"Yeah, like your ability to read minds and your field?"

The boy doesn't answer right away as the progress reports continue to be heard over the intercom system. <Voltage is at 75% nominal and rising still.>

"I am not sure. I only know that I stumbled upon them when I was two years old...I think I have had them ever since birth..."

"Mine were given to me by my grandfather...I was part of a plan to give him control of Third Impact...but I chose my parents over him for control..."

"So he made you?"

"For his purposes, yes. He implanted my mother with my father's DNA by insemination..."

Kaworu stays silent as he tries to make sense of what Kei just said.

"He stuck a needle into her stomach and created me."

"Oh..."

Suddenly, both children feel a sharp pain for a moment as the monitoring systems are adjusted to compensate for the problem. Once the pain has faded away they hear the updates continue concerning the power supply, <Power has started climbing again...105% nominal.>

"That was sure unpleasant..." comments Kei.

<Sorry you two. I should have warned you before modifying the settings for the Plug.> replies Misato, who had been listening in on the conversation, <It will only be another few minutes by the looks of it so feel free to continue your conversation.>

In the cage control room, Misato, Shinji, and Hikari once again sits in the same spot they did earlier that day. No real problems have popped up this time so the test is almost ready to be written off as a success. Misato has just finished reviewing the newest data on the Angel's doppelganger and turns to face Shinji.

"So far it looks like your daughter will be following in your footsteps. Are you at all worried about her?" she asks.

Shinji doesn't respond right away as he looks at the screen in front of him. Once he manages to gather the right words he gives her a reply, "Some...because she is different than other children her age. Her mind is much more advanced than it should be...all because of my father..."

"Shinji...your father may have made her the way she is, but don't forget that she chose you and Rei over him. You are the father of two children, one that is unique in her own way...sorta..."

"'Sorta' is right. Kaworu had a child and that child is the same as Kei, only lacking in complexity knowledge-wise. You wonder if I am worried? Damn right I am, I have no idea what the future will bring us anymore. All I know is that my only daughter is piloting something that I hated and still hate, along with the child of the boy that saved my wife's life, whom appears to have the same abilities as her. Don't forget that my wife is close to death and my best friend's sister is a pilot as well. I hate all of this but if I want to continue living I have to accept what is being dealt to me!" Shinji starts to breath heavily as he pauses and takes another huge breath, "My father opened up a door that was best left closed for a long time and now the world gets to suffer because of it. He may be dead but I see nothing has gotten better really, almost as if he never did die! He used me, he used Asuka, he used Rei, Toji, you, Kei, Ritsuko...the list goes on and on. He used anyone and everyone so he could get his way. No one is really free of him even now!!" At this point Shinji begins to shout in the large room, causing everyone to turn away from what they are doing and face him, "I am the son of a madman and I can't ever escape that, Misato. For as long as I am alive I get to live with the pain he has caused all of us! Who hear didn't suffer some kind of pain. Who here thinks that all those that died when NERV was attacked died in vain so one person could get their way! Gendo Ikari fucked the world over so he could have his way!!!" Before Shinji is able to continue he winces in pain as if something were squeezing his head. Soon a beeping noise from the terminals in front of him points out an abnormality coming from Kei. About thirty seconds pass before he stops holding onto his head, "Kei, why did you do that?" he asks his daughter.

"Because you were out of control! I didn't want to, but you forget that if it hadn't been for grandfather that I would not exist and you would still be living with your teacher someplace, doing nothing with your life!" she replies rather sternly towards her father.

"Kei, Kaworu, the test is indicating you are able to pilot. Once the Plug has been removed you are free to redress and get something to eat. Hikari will go with you." reports Misato before looking back at Shinji, "As for you, I want to see you in my office as soon as we are done here! Do you understand?!"

The boy nods yes as he sighs in his chair.

A few minutes later, after exiting the Plug and redressing themselves, Hikari arrives and leads the young children to the cafeteria to get something to eat.

"I am guessing we are pilots now?" Kaworu asks Hikari as they arrive in the expansive lunchroom that only seems to be holding about a quarter of its full capacity at the moment.

"According to MAGI-02, yes. The next time you have to enter the Eva we should have a suit for both of you so you don't have to ever fight naked."

"Hikari, why did may father blow up like that?" asks Kei.

"Don't you know?"

"Not really...I only wanted to stop him from saying something bad..."

Hikari quickly takes a seat at the closest table and motions for the other two to do the same, "Well...it’s a long story..." She takes a deep breath as she prepares to tell it, "Shinji has never really been in favor of your grandpa, Kei. None of us were after we found out what he was doing. Shinji took most of the abuse from him, always having to fight Angels since he was the best Pilot NERV had. In the beginning no one had really any idea how much your dad suffered from it. If there was one thing your dad did it was defend the ones he cared for. When Rei almost killed herself defending him he rushed to see if she was okay. Since the first moment he stepped into an Eva his father had total control of him. It wasn't until you came along that he started to break out of that control factor. You are lucky you have him as a father, Kei, he would do anything to defend his friends and family." she finishes.

"Shinji, normally you are a good person. You don't cause problems or anything beyond normal. What you did today in that room was totally inappropriate! There was no need for that outburst about how your father screwed everyone over! I am aware of everything he has done to everyone here and I would rather not be reminded of the past at the moment unless it is needed, and that was something I did not want to be reminded of!!" yells Misato in her office at Shinji.

"I'm sorry..."

"Shinji, I know how your father used everyone here, the Professor handed me all the reports concerning complaints that had piled up over that year and they were not minor problems either. Right now I am the one that gets complained about, even though I see few complaints and manage to come to a compromise with the individuals. Shinji, I have people that are worried about what is going to happen next, I am even worried about the future now that I know an Angel may be heading this way. I want you to stop dwelling on the past the way you did if you want to watch your daughter in battle, and no you can't prevent her from piloting! Do you understand?!"

"Yes, ma'am..."

The Commander softens her tone some as she continues, "Look, Shinji. Kei is right, if it hadn't been for your father you would not be here right now with Rei as your wife and two children. If I remember correctly he also apologized for what he did to you and your family. If I remember right you forgave him soon after he died. Don't look into the past any more than is needed because all you will find is pain. Do you see what I am saying?"

"I do...I guess my stress is just getting to me since things are starting to revert back to the way they were..."

"Hikari has someone doing everything they can for Rei, and you are here for Kei because she needs you. At least you know that people are in good hands this time around. Tell you what, why don't you go join Hikari and your daughter in the cafeteria and get some thing to eat, okay?" she finishes.

Shinji doesn't say anything but still shows that he understands as he stands up and walks towards the door.

"By the way, I have some news for you...Rei has slightly improved but is still in critical condition."

"Thank you..."

About ten minutes later, Shinji has arrived in the cafeteria and joined up with Hikari, Kei, and Kaworu at their table.

"So how did the talk go, Shinji?" asks Hikari, though she has a feeling she already knows what transpired in Misato's office.

"As you would probably expect..."

"Well, cheer up. You are here with us now."

He lets a small smile slip out when he hears this coming from a friend.

"Father, can I talk to you, alone?" quietly asks Kei.

"That depends on if you are needed anymore by Hikari and Misato?"

"It's okay, Shinji. You two can head to your quarters for a short while. I will give you a call when we are ready for the next phase of training." comments Hikari, causing Shinji to smile a bit more.

After arriving at their living quarters, Shinji leads Kei to the small dining table in the room before seating himself next to her, "So what do you want to talk about, Kei?"

"Tabris. Who was he really?"

"What?.." quietly asks Shinji, totally caught off guard by the girl's question.

"The Angel that saved mother's life...who was he?.."

It takes a long while for Shinji to gather the words to answer his daughter's question in a way he would be happy with, "He was a close friend that I was told to kill...but...I just couldn't do it. Your mother had become very ill during the time he arrived at NERV, he was the one that tried to help me during that hard time because I was afraid I might lose her. Then a few days later I found out he was an Angel that had taken over Asuka's Eva...and it was may job to stop him..."

"So you were forced to do something to him?"

"I had been instructed to kill him because of his nature...but with all the stress that I had come under...I wasn't able to...I couldn't kill someone that said they loved me, so he ended up stabbing my Eva with a progressive knife and I passed out. When I awoke I found I was in a bed. I found out later that Kaworu did not carry out his mission; instead he saved Rei somehow and set my unconscious body next to her bed. I don't know how but the room around us had been destroyed from some kind of explosion. I owe him my life for that..."

Kei stands up in the chair she is in and gives her father a hug since he was on the verge of tears as he finished his version of events. The moment of tranquility ends all to soon as the phone rings.

A half hour later the two Pilots of Unit-05 have begun training for battle after Misato had finished reviewing the latest data on the Angel. Mari had just finished her session with Toji and Makoto in Unit-04 minutes prior and according to the results she is learning quickly, she may even be able to battle the threat heading their way.

But it is now Kei and Kaworu's turn to be instructed on the operation of an Eva.

<Kei, you will be the one operating the mobility systems in this Eva, Kaworu has control of the gunner systems under normal operation. In the event one of you passes out the controls of the other will be routed to either of you. Any questions at this point?> asks Makoto, who is heading the training.

Neither pilot says anything as they wait for the first phase to begin.

<Good, I will start both of you off with target practice. The goal in this test is to maneuver yourselves to hit the target dead center and to line up the targeting scope before firing. Are you ready?>

Both pilots nod at the intercom window in the screen as they mentally ready themselves for the challenge.

In the cage control room, Makoto signals for one of the techs to start to holographic programming as he looks back at Misato, "Anything you wish to add?" he asks.

"I think you have covered everything. I can deliver my news once you have finished the first test." she replies.

Makoto nods and turns back to the expansive bay windows off to his side where on the other side stands an Eva with several cables leading into it. "Start the test!" he orders.

Within seconds the Eva starts moving around in the restraint system it has been put in for the mobility factor. On a screen located a few feet away from him is the image that the pilots see in the Plug's interior. After a minute passes he takes a look at the scores and sees they are pretty high, "These two make a good pair. Don't you think?" he indirectly asks Misato.

"Go to Level Four and see how they do." she orders.

Within moments the changes are made and the screen shows moving targets on it, "Pilots, we have increased the difficulty to Level Four, meaning the targets will be moving at a rapid pace."

The Pilots nod at the window as they do their best to adjust to the change in scenery.

After taking out only a few of the several targets present to them, both Pilots rethink their strategy and start concentrating a bit harder on the goal at hand, "So they think we were too good at level one, huh?" comments Kei.

"Maybe if we try to move with each target we can do it?" adds Kaworu.

"Good idea..."

Soon, the Pilots of Unit-05 have managed to dramatically increase their accuracy on the battlefield. But before they know it a new change is inputted as the level number increases to five, "What the?.." starts Kei before she looses concentration as three targets starts heading towards them at various speeds.

"Kei, don't lose your concentration!"

Within moments Kei recovers her ability to concentrate but it doesn't seem to be improving her ability much to line herself up with the targets. Only after a few minutes does she increase her ability.

In Cage Control, thing are just starting to get interesting as the monitoring equipment detects abnormal readings from the children.

"Commander, this is really starting to get weird. Both subjects have managed to synchronize themselves with the ability to pinpoint where to fire and when. Their score has breached 375 and is still climbing..." reports Shigeru, who is controlling the variables of the program.

"What is their mentality status?"

"Their minds are almost showing identical readings..."

A moment later a loud boom is heard from the area of the cage walls. Within moments the test is halted once everyone has discovered what caused the sound. "One of the plates in the cage have shattered!" yells Makoto.

"Do not pull the Plug out until we are sure it is safe!" orders Misato.

Several minutes later, the pilots are freed from the device, known as an Entry Plug, once the security personnel have determined it is safe. Misato has asked that the readings on their minds be compared to the simulation positioning and structural readings.

In the mean time she has decided to bring Hikari, the Ikaris, the Suzaharas, and Kaworu to the cafeteria to discuss the results better and get something to eat. When they arrive they quickly find a place to sit and order some food to be delivered to them. "I am sure you have all heard this already, but it looks like we have three new Eva Pilots in NERV, and unlike the last time I have made sure to include a salary for the service provided. Welcome to NERV, Kei Ikari, Kaworu Nabiki, and Mari Suzahara. As for your guardians they are already apart of NERV but will be receiving a slight pay increase for being guardians. Hikari here is the primary doctor for the Pilots and will have top say in what happens medical-wise." A few minutes later their food comes and they continue talking while they eat their late afternoon snacks. Once most of the group has left, Misato pays the bill and looks over at her newest role, taking care of Kaworu since he has lost his family, "Well, I guess it is time for us to get going too. You are going to like living with me, Kaworu Jr. I am sure we will get along quite nicely together.

Kaworu gives Misato a funny look and wonders about his Aunt.

Once they finally make it to Misato's living quarters, Misato doesn't waste much time in making a mess of her space, "Welcome to your temporary home, Kaworu. Once we get back to NERV you will be able to see my real place but as long as we are here we are home. Are you still hungry?" she asks.

The small boy nods slightly as he sits down in front of the TV after finding the remote control. Misato only grins as she sees how cute he really looks before she heads off to the kitchen.

Unknown to her, Kaworu isn't really watching TV, instead he has managed to create a communications channel between himself and Kei.

'What is it like to live with Misato?' he asks her

Even though he isn't able to see her face, the boy picks up on her expression, 'That is one thing I remember quite well from the first time my mother tasted her food. It was not a pleasant experience...' she responds.

Suddenly, Kaworu starts to worry about his health as he hears the microwave start up.

'Although, that was a few years ago and I haven't really tasted her instant food ever since NERV broke up...' she adds.

"Kaworu, time for dinner." yells Misato from the kitchen.

'Well, here goes nothing...' he finishes as the link is severed. Once he has turned off the TV he walks into the kitchen and prepares himself for the worst, or so he thinks is the worst.

He only takes one bite of the instant ramen and turns green from the taste.

"What's the matter? Is it too hot?" asks Misato.

Kaworu doesn't reply as he throws up onto the ramen in front of him and bolts for the bathroom in fear.

"Maybe I used a bit too much spice..."

"Kei, dinner is ready." yells Shinji once he has set the table for two.

Kei tries to reestablish her connection to Kaworu without much success as she seats herself at the table and begins eating.

"So how did you like the tests today?" he asks her.

"They were nothing like I remember...the targets looked like dartboards with circles."

"Misato had said the programming was a bit different here. I am sure you will be tested again at NERV HQ." adds Shinji before taking a bite of the ramen he had prepared.

"I think Kaworu has found out the hard way how bad Misato can be as a cook." she comments.

Shinji almost chokes on his food as he recalls the unpleasant memories of having to eat instant food a lot that was prepared by Misato, "Poor kid, maybe you should bring him something tomorrow?"

"If he survives the night..." she finishes.

Far away from NERV-02, Osamu is just waking up from his afternoon nap after having a bad dream in Asuka and Kensuke's place below the surface of the city. It isn't long before Asuka has arrived to comfort him and help him sleep again.

"It's okay, Osamu. You just had a bad dream. Everything is okay now." she quietly tells the boy.

"But I sawed a scawy monte wif wings in my dream dis time, and my daddy was fighting it and he gotted hurt when de monster bited him!" he cries.

Asuka giggles at the way the cute little boy talks, "Don't worry, your dad is safe and sound right now. Maybe I can let you talk to him tomorrow if you would like to?"

"Thank you, Auntie Asuka."

"You're welcome. Now get some sleep, okay?"

"Otay..." replies the small boy as he lies back in his bed.

Unknown to the two, that dream may have a chance of coming true, unless the Eva Pilots are trained in time for the pending battle.

(this omake was supposed to be used in place of the dream that Kaworu Jr. had.)

="Please, Shinji, I deserve to live just as much as you do." cries Kaworu as Shinji tightens Unit-01's hand around the boy's body, cutting off the ability to breath.=

="I cannot, you are an Angel and I am sworn to dispose of anything that threatens to end humanity." replies Shinji as he prepares for the crushing blow.=

=Kaworu looks up at the face of the giant holding onto him and smiles, "So you are willing to sacrifice your own friend to save the world? I respect that."=

="I am sorry, Kaworu. I do care for your friendship and I wish it didn't have to end this way, but my father has left me no choice..."=

=The boy laughs a bit before he makes his last comment, "So your are a slave to your father's wishes..."=

=Shinji didn't like how that last comment had been phrased and redoubles his grip, "No Angel can be my friend after a comment like that!" In an instant, red liquid coats the Eva's hand as a head shoots upward before reversing direction and landing in the LCL with a splash.=

Omake 2

...Once Shinji has come within several meters of his wife he starts to feel very dizzy as his mind is assaulted by some kind of energy field. The feeling only lasts for a minute and when it has passed it takes a few moments for him to get his bearings again. When he looks up he sees that Rei is starting to sway a bit where she is standing before she falls over and does a cartwheel across the walkway before flying over the railing, doing several back-flips in mid air until she lands three hundred meters below on the next walkway, right-side-up.

"Rei?" asks a stunned Shinji from above.

"What, you thought I would let myself fall over and possibly risk being killed in a horrible way? Man, you don't know me that well. Now, if you will excuse me, I have a class to teach." replies Rei as she walks off to a room located somewhere in the complex where some NERV-02 staff are awaiting the class '88 ways to gracefully fall without getting yourself killed' to begin.

Shinji just stands still since he still can't believe his wife was able to cheat death in such a cool way, "I have got to attend her class next time..."

(Rei has her dramatic side, about damn time!!!)

"Kaworu, I really need to used the bathroom! Open this damn door!!!"

The small boy cowering in the bathtub doesn't reply as he listens to the rants of the lady on the other side of the door.

"Kaworu, if you don't open this door right now I will have to...SHIT, I left my gun in there!!!"

Still no movement comes from the child as he remembers his first bite of the spicy ramen he tried.

"Kaworu, I can't hold it much longer!!!"

"Then hurry up a cook something I can actually eat!!!!"

(such bliss...Misato gets paid back for all those times she ruined dinner...)

Omake 4

(this is the original scene of Mari having to throw up in the Plug, notice the lines that give a good reason why I changed it)

"Her adrenals have risen slightly for..." starts Hikari before she figures out what is going on and reaches for the Plug intercom switch, "Mari, is everything okay?" she asks.

Misato begins to laugh when she hears there isn't really anything wrong, "Mari, you can throw up in the fluid if you want. It won't affect the test results any." she comments to the girl.

Misato is given a strange look over the intercom system as Mari tries to figure out what the Commander is saying.

"LCL, the stuff you are breathing, breaks down body fluids into the basics. If you have to pee or throw up then the liquid will dissolve your body fluids." the Commander adds, still laughing a bit. "Now, when it comes to having to take a dump...well, lets just say you wont like the result..." she finishes as she glances back at Shinji, remembering a time from years ago.

"HEY, I REALLY HAD TO GO!!!" he yells back.

"Sure, Shinji. And I am sure that American dish you had the night before had nothing to do with it?"

"W-well, i-it didn't!"

"Let this be a lesson to you, Mari. When Shinji made that mess, it took two weeks to clean his Entry Plug."

Shinji looks down at the floor after turning bright red from the memory he didn't want to remember.

Notes:

If you read the first Omake then you noticed that it is another version of the dream scene, the way it read was having Shinji being just like his father. The actual version used is NOT PART OF THE RC EVENTS, it follows how the TV episodes portrayed it happening for a reason. If you have not read Rei's Child or even seen Neon Genesis Evangelion then it is a must in order to really understand this continuation (watch the series up to the middle of episode 23 first before starting Rei's Child.) If you are wondering why I wrote the dream I did then you would have to ask the other writer about that, she deals with the newer character's personalities as well as Kei's and Osamu's. The second Omake is just something that popped into my head after thinking about episode 11 (NERV Blackout) and how Rei could have landed perfectly while Shinji and Asuka crash onto each other the same way as at the end of Episode 9. That was the end result of the thoughts. The third Omake was a joke that popped into my mind, so I modified it to fit the predicament of Kaworu being in the bathroom, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Shinji remembering his confrontation with the original Kaworu was a spot where he finally got to release how he felt about the new Kaworu, thus the reason he cried after finishing his version of events years prior. The explosion of how he felt about his father was another (unconventional) form of venting, but that method got him chewed out so I had to find a better way of letting him vent. As you may have been able to tell, I had a lot of fun writing the startup test and how the pilots and parents thought about the method used (They were naked, plain and simple. The first time it was done Asuka was not too happy, so why let that unhappiness go to waste here? This IS Eva after all). You got to admit, Toji would never really be willing to let his sister suffer the same way he did, and I am sure I got his attitude right when it came down to her being tested in Unit-04. If you don't know this by now, shame on you by the way if it is true, Misato is not that goo of a cook, so once again I have made fun of her cooking since it has been years since she had to cook for other people. Having Kaworu find that out the hard way was just perfect for the scene since then he would think twice in the future about eating her cooking again, willingly. As you may have noticed, I have not had Misato tell Kaworu that his Aunt is dead yet, I just plain forgot but I will be telling him in the next chapter. Do not question my ability to spell when it comes to Osamu's speech patterns. The point is to think like a four year old. If you are looking for someone to question then contact the other writer and complain to her. (glances around for other writer and weapons they may use...eheh)

Because of my busy schedule, these chapters are not going to be released in a monthly fashion like the original series sort of was. My fiancée keeps me busy a lot and work is tying me down. I write when I can but this isn't my only fictional work right now, I have the original Alternate Life writings back in the revision stage right now and I am also writing the novel version, which will differ from the short version currently posted. I still plan on doing a movie on the original version but with the current state of the economy right now that is basically on hold until I manage to get people gathered that will be willing to work for little pay, maybe none. So as you can see I have my hands full right now with several projects. The plus news is I have finally moved into a nice apartment with the love of my life and we are surviving.
