Code Geass R2 — Episode 25

Code Geass R2

It’s been a long journey, (probably longer than necessary due to the Xingke arc) but it’s finally over. The ending doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Although I do have some personal disappointments (poor Kallen ;_;), it was as a whole better than I had expected. Spoilers ahead.

Summary

Code Geass R2
She finally stops being annoying

Lelouch has to resort to using Geass on Nunnally, because he lacks the physical strength to pry the Key of Damocles from a wheelchair-bound defenceless little girl. After successfully asserting his dominant role as the tough big brother, he enters the whole I-am-evil routine.

Code Geass R2
“Why didn’t anyone tell me I wasn’t the main character!?”

The episode goes into the pre-programmed “give everyone his/her allocated airtime to angst and reflect on the past” sequence, during which Kallen kicks Suzaku’s ass, and Orange and Loli have some weird chemistry going on between them, which is totally wtf.

Code Geass R2
BDSM Yaoi

With Damocles under his control, Lelouch declares himself ruler of the world. He rounds up all the people who opposed him and sets up a kinky public parade to probably execute them or something.

Code Geass R2
Lee Harvey Oswald or Claus von Stauffenberg?

Zero makes a sudden appearance and kills Lelouch. The world goes wtf, and the end! What a shocking ending! The crowd goes wild!

Code Geass R2

Okay, so Zero is really Suzaku in disguised. This is all part of Lelouch’s plan for world peace. The world rallies around Zero and everyone is happy and wears black suits! Woohoo! And Lelouch survives too.

Thoughts

Code Geass R2
The anguish!

As I said, it’s not a bad ending. It’s rather grand and exciting, but it sort of doesn’t give the feeling of satisfaction for some reason. Like how Nunnally realizes too late that her brother is a Good Guy, and how Kallen will now forever be single because she can’t help but compare every guy she meets with her memories of Lelouch, and touch herself at night in naughty ways while looking at his photos.

Code Geass R2
The South shall rise!

Kallen and Suzaku repeat their whole debate over violent rebellion versus working peacefully to improve the system from within. This is rather like the American Civil War. Do states have the right to unilaterally reject federal laws that they perceive to be unconstitutional, and to secede from the Union if they feel that their rights are not being protected? Is armed struggle a valid option? So I guess what I am saying is that the Black Knights are like the Confederacy, except they aren’t white supremacists; they are black.

Code Geass R2
She stole Nunnally’s crane

As for Lelouch, I’m pretty sure he survives. I mean, I realize that C.C.’s closing remarks are intentionally vague, but they do strongly suggest that she is having regular sex with Lelouch on haystacks while travelling around rural Japan. Furthermore, from a point of common sense (which doesn’t always works in anime but whatever), if the technology exists to resurrect Orange, to let Sayoko act as Lelouch’s body double, and to build a gigantic orbital space station that can flatten the world, then surely there must be some way for Lelouch to fake his public death?

Code Geass R2
Separation of church and state

Perhaps Lelouch’s Geass reached its final stage and now he’s invulnerable (or however this Code Geass gibberish works). This means that he probably gave Suzaku the power of Geass, which makes sense if you consider the fact that Suzaku has to somehow conceal his identity as Zero from the entire world, a feat Lelouch managed only with the use of Geass.

IANACGEBIPOOMB (I Am Not A Code Geass Expert But I Play One On My Blog), but assuming my wild conjecture is true, then this means that Lelouch and C.C. have the rest of eternity to get tired of having sexual intercourse while lying on dead plant materials and awkwardly fumbling each other’s unclothed body.

Code Geass R2
Poor Kallen is pretending to be happy :(

I’m sure there are people who wish to disagree for the sake of it, but my personal interpretation of the ending is that Lelouch is alive with C.C., which I think is rather unfair to Kallen. Can’t they at least bring her along for a threesome? :(

I spent the last two days trying to memorize the entire history of the United States for SAT II. My brain is on the verge of exploding. There ought to be laws against forming political parties that share the same name with ten billion other parties in the past. Let’s make it the 28th Amendment. You can call it the Protect Our Children’s Sanity Bill.

  1. Gawain says:

    First!
There are like, 100 theories how Lulu survived. The best is that he has VV’s (Charlulu’s) code, which activated when he died (in the same way Charles got geassed, shot himself in the heart and then became immortal). He also geassed the people that will bury him beforehand.
Lulu lives and he is with CC. LULUxCC FOREVER!

  2. big_eye says:

“Do I stand a chance against her physical might?”

thank you, once again you made my day! I almost died from laughing.

as far as I understood Lelouch played the evil guy, so Suzaku/Zero can kill him and become the hero who freed the world from tyranny? so that everyone listens to him? oO

makes no sense but who cares. Lelouch is dead and atoned for his sins. all’s well.

  3. neothoron says:

    Nice wrap-up.

For my part, I found this ending quite satisfying. It reminded me of my favourite endings in my favourite stories by CLAMP.

Of course you could say that the fact that nobody realizes Lelouch’s true intention is strange, but that wouldn’t be the first time in the series that someone is surprised when he shouldn’t be. It’s the kind of inconsisency to which 25 episodes of R2 have desensitized me.

And I truly believe that Lelouch is dead. Any attempt to bring him back Gilford-like or Orange-like or Marianne-like or Charles-like would result in my eternal wrath. (But I would watch the show anyway, being the fanboy I am. T.T)

Edit: Lelouch’s plan Zero Requiem was to make sure that, after his death, a better world would emerge.
Zero v2 barely commands anyone, he just pushes Nunnaly’s chair and follows Schneizel’s instructions.
Nunnally is leader of Britannia, Ohgi leader of Japan, and so on. All’s well that ends well.

  4. Kurogane says:

I just can’t win against your sense of humour. This post really cracked me up.

Should worth mention that Kallen did a Rei at the end of the episode, it was kinda funny seeing her going “I’m late!” with the piece of bread from her mouth. I was half-expecting she’ll bump in to a new transfer student that looks like Lelouch.

  5. CrimsonBlade says:

Lol i tot it would be a lelouch X C.C ending…didn’t expect the Wolf and Spice type of ending though.

In retrospect C.C does share a lot of similarity with Horo
cant say the same with Lawrence and lelouch.

@ last pic: is Kallen seeing Gino….lol

  6. KK says:

Lelouch is alive. Here’s why :

For the slow moving scene in the anime :

For the second pic of lelouch being alive :
    http://i34.tinypic.com/rr1bpx.jpg

    For the explanation :
    http://animeotaku.animeblogger.net/2008/09/code-geass-r2-25-so-is-lelouch-dead-or-not/

    C.C’s name is Elizabeth.

    @neothoron

u like sad animes? Violinist of Hamelin is a good one. :)
    It’s okay if u don’t like it though. :)

    @sandslayer

The anime is Violinist of Hamelin. :)

  7. reika says:

is it me or xingke died? he don’t seem to be around in the wedding photo…

  8. SnooSnoo says:

    What? A happy ending? Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  9. big_eye says:

can the bastard not just stay dead? well so he’s probably alive.
the scary thing is that someone actually is so into this show that he can think of stuff like “he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also a reason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.”

    or

“4. When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone with the fully evolved Geass.
    5. The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C” is pronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.” which is Engrish (I presume) for L.L., Lelouch Lamprouge.”

srsly… Code Geass is NOT NGE (even though episode 21 tried to make you think so)

  10. Blurb says:

Thanks for the review, sorry about the whole US history thing, I know it sucks I live there.

  11. neothoron says:

Then I will just have to settle with “Can’t Nunnally see that Lelouch is alive?” and “Why would CC cry if she has given him a Code?”

However, the thing about Nunnally touching Lelouch having a flash struck me. (Which has only happened with touching fully evolved geass people)

As for the rest, I’m pissed. Not enough not to watch a third season or a film if there is one, but… I’m pissed anyway, for what it’s worth.

And when I thought that I zoomed on the char driving the car, and concluded “Absolutely no details whatsoever. Should not be Lelouch. Hence, is not Lelouch.”

Oh. Right. So Lelouch gets “atonement” in the form of endless companionship with CC, while Suzaku has to mask himself for the rest of his days, and Milly/Karen has to settle for Rival/Gino. Yeah. Fair.

Thank you for opening my eyes!

*Waiting for the next film where Karen+Milly+Kaguya make a giant conspiracy to retake Lelouch*

  12. Wawanisa says:

    Gundam 00 s2 can now start ^^!

  13. manga says:

Come on people. So to get the “immortality” thing going you have to die? Can´t really say I believe that but ok.

Charles did already have the immortality when he shot himself. It would make for a quite spectacular psychological blow to your enemy to think they´ve won and then rise from the dead.

To top it of, when rewatching the ep I don´t see Charles eyes flashing with the red ring that signifies that he has been geassed.

So sorry, no point given for that.

And if that were the case, why would he tell Suzaku to kill him and take over after him as Zero? As the plan for his Zero Requime was to kill himself to bring peace to the world after everything was taken cared of?

He proclaimed to be the ultimate evil that took up arms to take the whole world by force after his dad. Which is a lie, it´ll look terrible and make all people hate him = his plan thus erasing the massacre that Euphie did.

For CC, getting the immortality seemed to be a bloody thing. But from all we know it just had to be something that happenend before the ritual was complete, getting that scared and cornered might want you to take your life, but alas, geass code revived her.

And since we never get to see neither, Mao, Charles, Anya or Lelouchs bodies we don´t know if they have gotten a scar either.

Anyway, I´d guess Leloch is as dead as they come. You know the whole “bloody body being shown on airtime = dead if not revived in the same ep” that Sunrise is so damn famous for.

But Macross Frontier got a movie, CGR2 might get some OVA or something just to milk the fans of more money.

neothorn: So Suzaku has a fully evolved Geass as he was able to see short short glimps from CCs memory in Season one? That thing fails so damn hard. Nunally is able to see into the person´s mind of who she is touching. She has shown of that ability multiple times this season.

  14. Tsukuyomi says:

Lol you forgot Orange and Loli Anya tending an ORANGE FIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    OMFGOMFGOMFGOMFOGMFGOZOMGBSOMGHSLKJGASDSHTGUYKSDG!
    FUNNY

Sunrise really wants u to think that Lelouch is alive. Random Curiosity now calls lelouch RR like the title R2. Which also hints that lelouch has the code.

  15. Omega Knighx says:

Lol Suzaku “kills” lelouch with the same sword that Lulu uses to command his army of geassed yugioh ppl.

  16. Max says:

    @neothoron
I can now say that Kallen X Shirley were indeed Lelouch’s love interests. But with Shirley gone, it’s now Kallen and Milly. Although Milly’s relationship with was not touched on at all. It might have been interesting to have seen her love developed at the level of Kallen and Shirley. I can’t understand why the writers never taked about Milly’s relationship with Lelouch. Instead, they gave us those silly random Ashford Academy moments. What a total waste of time that R2 provided.

I am not sure if they are going to create an OVA or a new series, but I would rather see a new series that was based on the planned R2. Everything from Turn 13 to Turn 25 was rush and disjointed, in my opinion. Just as Kallen has lots of pictures of Lelouch, I am quite certain that Milly has tons of pictures of him as well. But the idea that everyone is happy, without a care in the world, doesn’t seem right to me. It’s as though that this season was nothing more than a dream. Way too predictable, starting with Turn 13.

  17. neothoron says:

@manga: by “fully evolved Geass” I was referring to CC, not Suzaku. But your point about Nunnally touching someone’s hand and reading his/her thoughts is true, too.

@Max: Milly has always been in the background. It was, in my opinion, never intended that she should develop with any depth a love relation with Lelouch, just a desire “if only…”

Crap, I don’t want to devote any neuron to Code Geass anymore!
    At least, not now.

  18. lilu says:

    LOL
    The wedding picture:
Oughi’s side consists of japanase and chinese people
Villeta’s side consists of britannian people(in this side I can see a lots of pairings: Anya x Arthur, Kallen x Gino, Rivalz x Miya, Nina x Milly, Loyd x Cecile, Cornelia x Guilford).

And I know why Anya is with Orange. These two people are the biggest victims of geass.(Anya lost her memories. Orange became robot.)

  19. Loba says:

Lelouch is alive. Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t paid much attention throughout the show. Well, kudos to to lelouch for literally destroying and recreating the world not in his image, but according to the will of the people.

The result? He gets to live carefree while suzaku is stuck behind that stupid mask having to sneak around all day to hide his secret identity. Folks, lelouch got the good deal here, carefree life with C.C. the hot babe while Suzaku aka Zero is the caretaker of Nunnally. No wonder Lelouch said sorry to Suzaku. Lol. But it’s kinda mean to nunnally though, he should seek her out one day but hey, HERE’s something for everyone to ponder. IF lelouch know before hand that he’s not going to ‘die’, then shouldn’t nunnally know about it through memory transfer? Or perhaps it was just limited memory transfer. Hmhm.

  20. averre says:

can someone tell me CC’s real name??!

  21. ryuko_hikaru says:

Well at least Orange-kun is happy in his Orange farm with a pink-haired loli to help him out.

Still waiting for G00S2 next week. You are planning on another bunch of sarcastic commentary like you did to the first season, aren’t you darky?

P.S Geass’s invulnerability only works when someone passes the code (bird sigil marking) down, like what the nun did to C.C and what V.V did to Charles.

  22. invshika says:

they never said C.C.’s real name

    dammit

  23. Just_My_Guess says:

My interpretation is Lelouch get immortality from C.C, and in exchange is giving C.C happiness by staying besides her until she dies. I’d say this was C.C’s idea. Got no proof though because they purposely bloodied Lelouch’s hand so we can’t see the Code, and again we cant see C.C’s Code through her hair.
Suzaku will at least have Nunnally to open his heart to because Nunnally knows he is Zero (the flashback she saw has Lelouch giving him the mask). So yeah he’s prolly going to end up being Lelouch’s brother in law haha.

What is Schneizel doing? Is he still under the “obey me” geass from Lelouch?

  24. Sabu113 says:

It was an Ok -> good ending. sigh. I’m just disappointed how the second season played out.
    Gah not enough Kallen time ;_;

  25. averre says:

Also, what was that necklace Kallen wore at the end? Any significance?

  26. GBABH says:

that was the activation key for the guren

  27. Kaus says:

Lelouch (Zero’s) only gift to her.

  28. Lyzander says:

Great ending. I was pleasantly surprised. From what I understand though, that was Taniguchi’s original vision for the ending, hence why it was better than much of the rest of R2.

Would be neat if Taniguchi could somehow get approval to make a redone R2 as he originally planned it, but I doubt that would ever happen.

I’m also firmly in the “Lelouch is alive” camp.

  29. siraydee says:

I agree with the “Lelouch lives” camp for the following reasons:

    1) Lelouch had two months before staging the whole “I-tried-to-kill-the-UFN-reps-but-Zero-killed-me-first” routine. Surely he could just Geass some fool to don the disguise Sayoko once used & spout some pre-planned dialogue.

    2) Unlike Suzaku, Lelouch is NOT suicidal. The most self-destructive act we’ve seen him do is attempting to inject Refrain into his bloodstream. The fact that Nunnaly survived the FLEIA explosion should, I believe, strenghten his resolve to live.

    3) C.C. has always interfered with any thing that threatens Lelouch’s life, because she wants him to inherit her Code. Her lack of action in this scheme would hint that Lelouch’s life is not in danger. Whether it is because he is immortal or it is a double of Lelouch or yet another plot device by Sunrise, the possibilities are limitless.

So yes, my interpretation is that Lelouch survives, and the Zero Requiem plan was to have Lelouch change Britannia from inside, make the world hate him so much that Euphemia the Massacre Princess’ Japanese genocide pale in comparison, and have Suzaku govern the now-united world as Zero, with the Black Knights, UFN & his new Geass-influenced right-hand man Schneizel at his disposal. Nunnaly is a value-added bonus simply because she survived.

  30. sandslayer says:

My (final) thoughts on the series:

I am of the opinion that Lelouch is alive. The post that KK supplied was very convincing (not the picture but the post listing proof). However, it is mostly speculation and I’m certain the writers want us to decide for ourselves whether C.C. is talking to Lelouch via the World of C or if he’s the driver.

It always pisses me off though when there isn’t a definite ending, because then for months afterwards (if it’s a popular show) people on the internet debate on and on without realizing what really happened or if their missing some of the most obvious details. Senseless arguing based on fanboyism so-to-speak.

Jeremiah tending an orange pasture cracked me up and opened up a realization in my heart. There is a SHITLOAD of pedophiles in this show. Minami (he always blushes around Kaguya and Tianzi), Li Xingke (he’s dead though), Zero (he has Kaguya), Suzaku (Kaguya, Nunnally and for a while there, Anya) and now Orange (Anya).

Back to reality. Despite it not being a definite ending, I liked it. Kallen seems to have forgiven Lelouch and my theory about GinoxKallen is coming true. Also, Lelouch is alive and with C.C. (yay), Guilford is alive (woot), and the best of all is this.

    Zero is the good guy.

When I saw the scene where Zero popped up and killed Lelouch (sike) I realized, not only did he conceal Euphies name in history, he made himself (or his alter-ego) a good guy again. When everyone thought Zero was dead, he pops up and metes out justice that he has so long proclaimed he fought for, which in turn made the Black Knights realize that the real Zero wasn’t Lelouch (which cracked me up and restored the former Black Knights hope). However one thought remains. Remember that scene in episode…9 was it? When Kallen was on top of Lelouch and he asks her to go back to Ashford with her? It stuck in my mind that it would’ve been a much better show if Lelouch died/lived the good guy instead of the bad guy. Maybe it’s residue Kallen fanboyism but…I wish that they acted on that promise and they ended up together.

Closing (random) thoughts: Imagine what Rivalz and Milly think. Their mysterious friend from school suddenly pops up as the emperor, then proceeds to taking over the world AND THEN gets killed. From a standpoint that is so completely blind, imagine what goes through their heads. Also, why isn’t Nunnally dead? She still pisses me off (though slightly less since she’s really cute now that she can see).

Alright, I’m done. I feel empty inside now…like when I finish a good book and I’m thinking “Why can’t it go on? I liked it so much!”…I hate that feeling. The crappy part is, now there aren’t any anime’s left that I think are good…guess I have the rewatch Code Geass…then kill myself (kidding). Maybe I’ll look into Violinist of Hamelin.

  31. Yangbaby says:

    Nice screens as always!

yeah I think lelouch is alive because of the memory transfer with Nunally, I haven’t seen that stuff when others touched him when he got evolved geass so I’m think something had to happen. Also like most other SUNRISE anime, they tend to bring back dead characters

  32. neothoron says:

I don’t agree with “if Lelouch had been a good guy, the show would have been better”.
My opinion is that it’s Lelouch being the “bad” guy, “becoming evil to conquer an evil greater still”, that made all the charm of this series.
I mean, there are quite enough good anime with sane and nice people fighting evil guys, aren’t there?

Of course, I’m sad for Karen. I love her. T_T But I tend to love every anime girl I see. *sigh* (This time I loved Shirley and Karen)

  33. Raine says:

I personally think lelouch is alive cuz it just doesnt make sense if he isnt.
first of all, he promised to give CC a smile right?
the story doesnt make sense if he dies and leaves CC immortal with nothing to do on earth…that just…it doesnt make sense. the story doesnt flow that way, so he must have survived.

at first i thot that CC probably can speak to lelouch somehow since she has a connection to the world of C and she had a connecton with lelouch through his prior geass, but if you watch the part with the wagon driver, the screen zooms in on the wagon driver and so they’re probably hinting that its someone in disguise. then CC tilts her head toward the driver when she asks, “right, lelouch?” So I’m pretty sure he’s alive.

i’m definitely a lelouch fan but regardless, i just think that the story wouldnt even make SENSE anymore if he died.

  34. Badx says:

I’m surprised the shot of Kallen from the usual butt point of view didn’t make it in here.
Why’s everyone feeling so bad for Kallen, she’s got her mom back, who for awhile I had thought they had forgotten about, can go back to school, everybody happy.

  35. lollycherry says:

I don’t know if it has been mentioned but Xing-Ke does seem dead as he is not on the wedding photograph

  36. Soulstider says:

What? No joke about Anya and Orange managing a orange plantation?

  37. LOL ORANGE says:

Aye, the Orange and the Orange plantation.

  38. sandslayer says:

    Raine- comment 33:

What I had meant with Lelouch being the good guy is that I wish Lelouch was more of a good guy towards Kallen or Nunnally rather than being an ass on purpose. His self-sacrificing attitude that he did to make others not regret hating him kind of got on my nerves because it really DIDN’T WORK. Kallen was crying when she was about to kill him and Nunnally was crying when Lelouch died. While that does in fact say, he died a good guy in their eyes, I still would’ve preferred something else.

In all acts of desperation I would have liked them to at least show his face to make my heart rest a little easier. Oh well, eventually I’ll move on. It was a great ending though, it really did justice to the show.

  39. Danke says:

I think the ending would be nicer if they had brought back Euphy to make it a one big happy ending!

Great job on the reviews, DM. Thanks! Will be looking forward to your Gundam 00 reviews.

  40. Tsukuyomi says:

Jeremiah tending an orange pasture cracked me up and opened up a realization in my heart.(was that my quote?) There is a SHITLOAD of pedophiles in this show. Minami (he always blushes around Kaguya and Tianzi), Li Xingke (he’s dead though), Zero (he has Kaguya), Suzaku (Kaguya, Nunnally and for a while there, Anya) and now Orange (Anya).

K first, Lelouch is not a pedo cuz Kaguya is his age and Suzaku is less than a year older than kaguya.

Legal def. of a pedo is that u must be +6 years older than the victim and the victim must be younger that 16.

  41. Orange says:

All Hail All-The-Useless-Side-Characters-Who-Didn’t-Die-But-Instead-Turned-This-Show-Into-A-Trainwreck !!! I still don’t understand why Xingke didn’t die back during his fight with Bismarck, why did Tamaki survived, how did Guilford and Suzaku escape death ? The winner is still Nonette who is off having intercourse with Ray in a parallel universe (it seems her actress decided to leave after Turn 21 so they had to hire Dorothea out of the blue). Still they manage to do a not too much trainwreck ending even with all those useless noobs.

  42. cor says:

Who thinks LeLouch is dead didnt pay enough attention, the szene with Nunnally seeing his memories is proof as that cant happen without a code. The scene with C.C. crying can be explained by that she was praying that his Geass is actually strong enough to activate the code, the theorie about having to die to activate it fits also with the szenes from C.C. and Charles getting theirs.

and would C.C. look so happy if her beloved one was dead at the end? nah :)

Also Suzaku’s ending isnt so bad as many think, he actually got what he wanted, the position to change the world to a better place and taking care of Nunally.

  43. Amnestic says:

Lelouch is alive. I’m still wondering what’s with Guilford’s sunglasses though. No reason to wear them inside, but how does he run around if he’s blind? ;/

I wanna know who made Nunnally’s bondage costume though. It’s just a little weird I think.

  44. Tsyunami says:

Lelouch is alive because his dead body wasnt really shown off the platform and CC is extremely happy….also she makes reference that maybe the geass doesnt cause isolation after all * hint, hint*

  45. chansey says:

Lelouch is still alive. He has Charles’ Code which he received when the man choked him. The Code activates first when you die, which happened. And before you say can’t have Code and a Geass at the same time, the Code wasn’t the one C.C. had, meaning that Lelouch was the first one to achieve Code Geass. He’s now travelling the country-side with C.C., living as immortals.

That’s the only reason for C.C. to be suddenly so happy again. Also, before you say that C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that’s not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the “hearts” of others. That’s how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch’s Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there.

Also, the screenie of the cart driver who is masking his features competely supports this.

What further supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch’s memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code and is alive.

C.C.’s words in the end translated: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch”

Just a theory I’ve read somewhere.

Yeahhh i totally agree with all the theories about why lelouch must be alive.
i have to be really sorry and admit that i never realy picked on the whole “u must be dead first for the code to activate” or from the fact that lelouch might have picked up charle’s code.

wait so lelouch inhereited charles code cuz he killed charles right? whoever with the powerful geass ability to kill someone with a code automatically obtains that code, but it only activates after he dies right?

so basically because lelouch killed charles, he got charle’s code. then suzaku kills him, and lelouch’s code activates and he becomes immortal with C.C. right??

omg that is one awesome ending if it’s true! which i believe it must be.

but i feel so sorry for nunally and kallen who will probably never see him again even tho he’s not dead like they think. i believe lelouch should at least confront his sister though…

I’m depressed… such a long ride! :O seriously.. this has been the best series I’ve seen in a loooong time, the first one I’ve followed for 2 seasons actually. I’ll get over it sometime I guess

Quite a number of people seem to rely on the whole Code of Geass thingy to prove that Lelouch is still alive.

while I personally wouldn’t care much if he’s still alive, I guess I’m one of those “people who wish to disagree for the sake of it”, so I’ll do what I do best (other than Physics) and argue against this theory.

That nun at the church who gave C.C Geass had a “Code”, that means she was immortal, immune to Geass, had those telepathic powers and such that C.C has but she couldn’t use Geass herself,

Next step was to give C.C (or whatever was her name that time*) Geass, then wait till it reaches it’s final level and pass her Code on to C.C, and that’s the point , when the Geass user reaches the final level, the immortal who contracted with them would be able to give them their Code, not earlier.
Since the immortal lost her Code, she’s finally able to die, while the one who received it becomes immortal and loses Geass, until he contracts with another person and passes his Code to that person and dies, And the cycle goes on.

Assuming that Lelouch did reach the final level, C.C could actually pass her Code to him and lose her immortality, and the 2 months time skip gives them quite the chance to do it, so that means it’s very much possible, but would she be willing to stay alive with him afterwards, and would he even want her Code ?
but still, it’s very much possible,
hey,I just defeated my own argument !

    * This isn’t fair! we still don’t know her name !

hahaha awesome comment, made me laugh :D

  50. Kaiser says:

On the whole issue of Lelouch using Geass instead of just taking the key from Nunally, it’s simple.

If he even tried to make a move to grab the key Nunally would have just slammed the go button on her wheelchair to run over Lelouch’s shoes or run into his knees. I can tell you right now from personal experience that it freaking hurts when someone does that.

Or you could go with the whole symbolism angle in which Lelouch realizes that he got over his infatuation with his sister and finally gained the testicular fortitude to accomplish his goals without caring for the obstacles.

    Either one works really.
