So many things, so little money…
I have a problem. I am running on a tight budget this month (hint: Haruhi DVDs) and Japan decided to help me with this problem by releasing all sorts of wonderful things that I would die to get my hands … Continue reading

Zero no Tsukaima Vol.1 ãƒã‚§ãƒƒã‚¯ï¼
Zero no Tsukaima is an original light novel series by Noboru Yamaguchi published under MF文庫 (Media Factory bunko). The first novel took me about three days to finish. For comparison, it took me a few weeks of half-hearted reading to … Continue reading

You know you spend too much on manga when…
I dropped by Kinokuniya to place an order for Zero no Tsukaima vol.2 and 3 today and pick up the October Issue of Newtype. As usual, I ended up with unexpected expenditures. Let me tell you a story.

1/6 Gothic Lolita Rei
This figurine has reawakened my Rei fanboyism. It’s a 1/6 polystone pre-painted figurine of Rei measuring 20cm tall and it costs 13,800 excluding tax. Order from HLJ or CDJapan. (CDJapan’s listing has the scale wrong)

Help fight lolicon!
Okay, so this isn’t exactly the post that everyone’s been waiting for. I’ll blog about today’s Wesada-Shibuya High School bunkasai later. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway… Say NO to lolicon! Help light a candle today!
New Layout: Haruhi H
Yay! Finally, a new layout; my first since migrating from B2 to WordPress. It’s Haruhi… and the letter H! (What were you thinking?) Okay, so it’s not exactly a completely new layout. It’s based on the default WP theme Kubrick. … Continue reading
5å¹´ç›®ã®æ”¾èª²å¾Œ Afterschool of the 5th Year
Some people were wondering where the picture of Haruhi in my new banner came from. It’s a doujin art by a circle called 5å¹´ç›®ã®æ”¾èª²å¾Œ (go-nenme no houkago) or as the doujin covers say, “Afterschool of the 5th Year”. It sounds … Continue reading
Aya Hirano – Ashita no PRISM
I translated it. Yup. I do realize the inherent irony, but it’s just about the only single that I’ve downloaded recently. When boredom attacks, anything at hand works. Tomorrow’s Prism Vocal: Aya Hirano The sweet chimes ring in my heart, … Continue reading
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora OP – Aoi Koufuku
This song came up in my playlist shuffle today and I suddenly felt like translating it. Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is a story of love and hope about a girl who suffers from a terminal illness. The lyrics … Continue reading
Importing a Japanese mobile phone
Vodafone 903SH If you have been reading my blog since the b2 days, you would know that I own a Vodafone 903SH (the SH is for Sharp). At the time I got it, the phone was the latest 3G offering … Continue reading

Beginner’s Japanese – Chapter VI – Keigo
You hear it in anime and drama all the time, often without realizing it. It is the bane non-native Japanese speakers (or at least one of the numerous). It lurks in the shadows as it descends upon you with such … Continue reading
